Had a great time. I learned a lot and have fun doing it too. Nic was a great guild and made us laugh. For a ticket price you get the tour and also pan for gold. Panning is harder than it looks, but fun.Nic recommended...More

Don’t let the Walmart fool you. This place was and still is a little pice of history tucked away behind a large Walmart Super Center. All the activities (gem mining and panning for gold are really enjoyable. But nothing compares to the mine tour. If...More

The grandkids had a great time panning for gems and we're so excited with each find. The gold mine tour was interesting. JD was our tour guide and was funny and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place.

Thoroughly enjoyed touring this underground coal mine. Our guide was well-versed and detail oriented. I was amazed at the degree of danger routinely faced by those minors back during that era. We highly recommend this an expensive her.

The entire staff is very friendly. We did the tour with 2 younger kids and Nolan the tour guide was an awesome guide. There was also 2 cute little bats down in the mine. Its definitely worth going!

I don't give too many 5 star reviews, but...We stopped here this past week and had a great visit. Of course this is a major tourist trap. They have a short video about the history, allow you to pan for gold depending on what you...More

Upon realizing after buying tickets at the visitors center that probably should take the mine tour, the lady receptionist offered us additional gold and gem panning. The attendants during the panning were quite informative about the process.

Yes, 2 hours should be fine. You go in and purchase your tickets. The tours leave about every 20 minutes and you can do a little gold panning until they call your tour. Seems like it was only a bout 10-15 minutes. Tour... More

The mine isn’t active. When we went we were (that’s a lot of w’s) given pans with the sand in it. I can’t say if the gold is added or natural to the sand. Everyone in our party got something to take as a memento... More
