Had a great trip with Tour Guide Adam. He answered lots of questions and showed us around the mine. VERY FRIENDLY AND GREAT WITH KIDDOS! Student enjoyed learning all about mining, history of the gold rush and seeing some relics left form the past. As an adult my favorite part was seeing the bat who was hibernating! We panned for... We could not have gotten a better tour guide than Minor Tom. He was so full of information! We loved him! Enjoyed the tour, gold mining, and shopping.

A great experience with wonderful employees leading the way. The mine tour was educational with lots of humor interspersed. Panning for gold was a new experience and everyone had a good time. I would absolutely go back again the next time we are in the area. Great customer service. Every employee had a smile and a nice word for all.

The kids, 12 and 10, we're looking forward to the gem mining wich was a lot of fun and they explain all gems you find. The tour of the mine is fun and has some history with it. The complete entire staff on 3.22.17 were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to interact with. While panning for gold the gentleman helped the... More

This was a fun and interesting tour underground - our guide, CJ, interspersed humor in with the history of the mine. He did a wonderful job involving the kids and answering questions. Gold panning afterwards is not as easy as it looks but we all walked away with some treasure. A great way to spend the time!

We have a "rock hound" in our family and enjoy visiting the Consolidated Gold Mine to go gem "mining". The staff are very knowledgeable about the various rocks and gems, they are friendly, and make it a fun learning experience for the kids. You can also tour the mine and pan for gold.

This was our second time doing the gold mine tour and gold panning. The tour is a unique and interesting experience. This time we added the gem stone panning, which was easier and more rewarding than the gold panning. $30 buys a large bucket of sand loaded with gemstones...well worth it!

Great tour with lots of neat insights in an underground mine. The actual drill examples was very interesting and the kids loved the pneumatic drill and the echo in the mine. With the tour you get a pan of ore to pan for gold. The kids loved that and they all found something. We also bought a gem bucket which... More

For the fifth consecutive year, I visited the Consolidated Gold Mines with my team and students from a school in Forsyth County. The tours are always so interactive, fun, and engaging. This year, my class was comprised of a group with a variety of special needs. Our guide picked up on this immediately and did great with my kids! We... More
