Has some nice bars and shops around the square - not a huge amount to see but enough to wander around for a hour or so

Located next to the Decatur MARTA station and old county courthouse, Decatur's Square is a real beehive of activity most days and nights. Concerts and just hanging out are the main activities. Restaurants are close by in large numbers. Many improvements have been made over the years in the fountains and seating.

You hop off of the metro and you're in the heart of the Dekatur square. Its a fairly small square you can walk around it in 15min. It's surrounded by some pubs and restaurants and a historical courthouse nearby. And that's about it, nothing else to see nearby. If you are a tourist, it's really far from the other tourist... Found this small town square to be adorable! It is filled with restaurants and some very eclectic shops like the Wild Oats and Billy Goats store which I couldn't get enough of! The square felt very homey and wish we had something like this near where we live in Massachusetts!

There are lots of places to eat. Some are good some not so good. Find someone local to ask which ones are best. The area doesn't not seem safe at night. Too many just wandering the streets

When the weather is good, this is where you go to have your pick of ice cream or King of Pops popsicle. Plenty of seating in the sun and shade. Also there are a few hidden doors in the Square that are fun to find.

"The Square" sits above the Decatur Stop on the Atlanta Metro system (MARTA). It is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. You may run into a few panhandlers but for the most part you'll see employees having lunch during the week and singles and couples roving at night.

This was a complete surprise. It was almost like an English village square. Old fashioned, with band stand, excellent cafe's, great variety of restaurants, shops, brilliant ice cream parlour and beautifully clean & well maintained. Underneath all this is the MARTA system to whisk you downtown Atlanta and also the bus station was less than one minute walk away. We... More

It is at the center of downtown Decatur and is a wonderful place to sit and watch people stroll by. In addition there are a number of wonderful local restaurants surrounding the square. Definitely worth seeing and dining.

Imagine a Norman Rockwell scene: The gazebo has a band playing, families are hanging out with picnics or ice cream, strollers, dogs, shoppers, and restaurants have patio tables for fast casual as well as fine dining. It's all here! You may see impromtu dance and drum performances or experience the quiet of a moonlit night with tourists and local mingling... More
