Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s an exceptional place.
Magnificent, grandiose, I can't find enough superlatives...
You have to see the panorama when arriving via Blandas or via Baume Auriol.
Above all, don't hesitate to take the small winding road which goes down to Navacelles and admire the torrent formed by the Vis.

Going to 2 is sometimes difficult but in September there is no shuttle!
Not too much traffic. Free parking in the village.
Below we walked the 10 km of the mill promenade starting from the left side of the river , as arrow. Good shoes are necessary because there are big pebbles on the way. Very nice walk of medium difficulty (3h30). And on the way back we ate a very good pancake at mas Guilhou.

Beautiful place, we drove up to the viewpoint of Mont Auriol which offered a beautiful viewpoint. To go down to the hamlet, a 45min hike indicated “the postman’s path” - quite slippery despite the good weather... we did not do everything and went up to the top, it was very good too! I advise you to visit the website for more information.

This summer we went to the Circus of Navacelles , more precisely to the Belvedere of Blandas. The access road is winding and not very wide. If you drive carefully, there will be no problem. However, be careful if you have people among your passengers who are afraid of the "empty".
Arriving at the site of Blandas, three lookouts allow you to overlook the Grand Site de France of the Circus of Navacelles. These viewpoints (of the Doline, the Oaks and the Cascade) will allow you to admire this magnificent natural site. The Blandas gazebo is accessible to people with reduced mobility from the PMR car park. The building has a catering service, and a tourist office. We were very well received and very knowledgeable. A big thank you to the hostess.

A bit out of the way in spectacular scenery but not overcrowded. Crystal clear (quite fresh) water and plenty of opportunity to jump off rocks. Restaurant, parking, reasonable toilet on site. Absolutely recommended.

This is a site seeing must if you are in the area. We drove to the Baume Auriol where there is an Information Centre and the best viewing point to look down on to the Cirque de Navacelles. We then booked a seat at the restaurant which overlooked the landscape, an excellent vantage point.
The view is what could be described as the local answer to the Grand Canyon, really stunning. Then grab your 1 euro walking map from the info centre and off you go, descending down the canyon to trace the river towards the Moulins de la Foux, a waterfall where the river comes out of the mountain cave. The walk was about 10 Kms, but beware although beautiful the trek up and down the hill from the information centre is hard and somewhat of a scramble. You will need water in the Summer. It took us about 4 hours including paddling stops in the river. Well worth half a day, I would recommend that you may wish to drive down into the gorge before walking to the waterfall if you have young children or are wearing flip flops which are not recommended.

Although some sites suggest Not driving down, please do the views of the cirque are simply amazing. Remember to take your swimming gear with you as you will want to join in at the waterfall, especially if you have children with you, of any age. The river is slow and shallow and great for younger kids whilst jumping at the falls will excite everyone else. Take some decent shoes and also have a walk around, the actual canyon goes on for miles. My Tip, if you drive down, then take the other road on the way out, you will not be disappointed.

A wonderful natural geographic formation, caused by the Vis River which still flows through the gorge. The view from the top where there is a visitor centre and exhibition which describes the ox bow formation is interesting though only in French. There is a brief film also and a decent restaurant and craft shop. The road down to Navacelles a very small little hamlet at the bottom of the gorge is not difficult as long as you proceed cautiously and are happy to drive around hairpin bends (switchbacks). However whilst driving down and coming up again we noticed several campervans and cars towing caravans (trailers) in difficulty so please consider carefully if it is wise for you to attempt the decent if driving one of these vehicles. The little hamlet has a river bathing spot with clean water information and on a hot day was popular with children and adults. There are however steep drops and waterfalls and care/supervision of youngsters is needed. The water was beautifully clean. The village has wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and the visitor centre can be seen at the top. It is a relaxing, scenic and educational experience for the whole family.

Has to be seen to be believed. Well worth the journey down the twisting road. The views both coming in and going out are spectacular. If you can try a circular route so you don't go out the same way you came in.

Merci.

To be honest I have never heard about them, no one mentioned in front of us , but you have a point it could be as it is an isolated area somehow, maybe an expert advice is better to answer your query. Good job

Comment accède t'on à la cascade ? Possible d'y aller en voiture ?
Written 21 September 2017
Your question was: How do you get to the waterfall? Possible to go by car?
Answer: You can drive downwards to to the village of Navacelles, you can park your car in free parking 25 meters from the waterfall.

This place does look amazing but visiting at the height of summer - temperatures and dryness - I'm wondering how feasible a visit is and how much of the eg lush greenness and water falls will be present in July/August? Anyone been at this time of year who can advise please?
Written 22 July 2016
It's summer, it'll be hot and dry... If you're nearby go and visit but do it in the morning when the light is better and temperatures not so high.
There's a giftshop/tourist info you can call. The lady is very nice and will answer all your questions.
