While this site appears not to get the attention it deserves from all the people speeding by it on I-95, it is very well loved and looked after by the locals, especially Arthur, who I gather is the man in charge of the site. Admittedly, there is not much left of the old town of Sudbury, but the fort remains.... More

Loved it. Thank you, Sarah for making us feel so welcome. I will definitely be back to see a reenactment. Being in the place where my ggg grandfather fought and was captured. It was truly a good day indeed.

Fort Morris is an earthen fort on the edge of the marsh. The nearby town of Sunbury was a ghost town for much of the last two centuries, but rivaled Savannah at one time and was recognized by the British as being important, so much so they burned when they left. The fort is in great shape and you can... More

I had just finished the midway museum and this was close and a place to get out and walk around on a nice November day. The history is amazing here. There really isn't much left except for the berms but still was very good. Nature trails around were good to get out and stretch.

We enjoyed touring this beautiful Revoluntionary War fort. First you see a video then self-tour. A small museum then outside tour. A nice gift shop.

I attended the 2015 Georgia State Volunteer day at Fort Morris on Sept 26th. It was a great event and we did a good bit of work towards helping the site out. Maintenance on the blacksmith shop and the grounds as well as constructing the new Butterfly pollination garden. The site provided a good lunch, drinks all day and a... More

My husband and I have ventured out from our house in all directions and found this site to be more interesting when the volunteers dress up in period clothes and educate us on life back then. My favorite time is the Colonial Christmas where at the end of the evening we are treated to traditional dishes and brew. Bonfire and... More

There isn't much to see, but what is there is interesting. We took our time, starting with a historical video and then the walking tour. That the town of Sunbury has been lost to history is fascinating! The site manager is very friendly, and the artifacts in the museum are very interesting.

Fort Morris was very enjoyable for us. The staff is very knowledgeable of the history of the site and eager to explain it to visitors. There isn't much left of the fort but the view from the picnic table outside the fort is worth the price of admission and the nature trail is very peaceful. I can now imagine what... More

I enjoyed learning rarely known history of Georgia--the Revolutionary Roots. The museum is well-done and the staff are extremely helpful. They were always ready to answer questions. The view of the marsh was great and my children loved the park. Great unexpected gem of representing the roots of American history.
