Visited Stone Mountain Park over Thanksgiving Holiday. Only had time for the Sky Ride to top of mt.as we arrived around noontime. Was very busy and crowded due to long holiday weekend. Parking was $15 to enter park. Lots of parking lots but all full so they finally directed us to lawn area to park. You can bring a picnic... More

Enjoyed spending an afternoon at Stone Mountain. We drove the loop around the mountain, then parked and did the 1.5 mile hike up and down Stone Mountain. Nice view at the top and a very different kind of mountain 'climb' along hard rock face.

My brothers and I went here over Thanksgiving weekend. We hiked to the top. It was a lot of fun. There is a great view when you get to the top of the mountain. You can see the Atlanta skyline very well. I would definitely recommend this.

While visiting in Georgia, my husband really wanted to go to Stone Mountain to see the carving on the side of the mountain. Sadly, it was not what we expected. It costs $15 just to get into the park. Yes, it's an amusement park. Then we paid $12 per person to ride the cable car to the top. Pretty good... More

We came here for the afternoon and found that we could have stayed much longer. With the fall colors, this place is truly inspiring. The US cousin of Uluru (Ayer's Rock), the mountain appears to be a giant piece of granite dropped in the middle of a forest, which in the process of changing colors. Add the lake, a gristmill,... We went to stone mountain park on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. We were there at 10 when the park opens but soon found out that most of the attractions shops and restaurants would not be opening until 2:30 PM. I understand that it's a Sunday but it was a holiday weekend. After staying in The park for an hour... More

Stone Mountain Park just has so much to do. Excellent biking and walking trails. A trail with a 800+ foot trek to the summit of Stone Mountain awaits those with ambition. Those less active can take the Sky Lift to the summit. Either way it is a worthwhile excursion. The accommodations are good and a very good sized camping area... More

I can't find a thing wrong with it. Well, the Atlanta Traffic. Keep that in mind if you are on a time schedule, give yourself more time than the GPS says. We enjoyed the campground and my 7 year old had a blast at the amusement park.

We did the Snow Mountain/Stone Mountain experience with the Meal Deal. Great experience! We had a great time, going up/down the mountain by foot is a beast, make sure to wear your hiking shoes. Christmas lights at night is a MUST DO, so so beautiful! I was also suggest getting the Meal Deal if you can, we got a meal,... More

The park itself consists of at least two major areas: the hiking trails and the theme-park. There's a lot to see in both areas. Don't be fooled by photos, this massive structure dwarfs everything around it. The mountain is beyond huge, it's humongous.
