Plenty of history about Stone Mountain and the generals carved into it. Goes into history of the battles in the area and the ultimate demise of the southern confederacy.

If you're already at Stone Mountain, you won't regret putting forth the effort to get here. The Welcome Center is interesting, but not especially noteworthy, except the view. Where else around Atlanta can you get a view like this?

nice people very friendly and helpful after talking to them we decided to take the tram to the top of the rock

There isn't really much to say. The young lady at the booth was very helpful in giving directions and taking our $15 to park.
