Beautiful garden. The beds are labelled and are easy to see. About 40 varieties of roses. Shaded gazebo if you want to rest. Best time to see is early AM or late in the day. Sets up well for photography. Free.

I'm sorry, and I hate to say this, because I realllllly like Thomasville, but since the city hosts a Rose Festival, I was expecting a huge rose garden. I was a bit shocked when we got there and saw how small it was. I've visited a number of gardens that also included rose gardens and this was the smallest, least... More

The Thomasville Rose Garden is a beautiful park with many examples of roses. It is beautifully kept and always a pleasant place to visit. Its proximity to the lake is also nice, with shaded eating areas nearby for lunch or a snack.

This is the time of year just before the big burst of April blooms. Looks like they have already started. It's going to be a beautiful spot around Rose Show 2017.

...and they weren't all in bloom yet! I could have spent hours photographing them if the wind wasn't blowing. The Garden was beautiful and so was Cherokee Park!

Thomasville has hosted the Rose Festival for 95 years and the Rose Garden is home to many of the varieties you will see in the festival. I have been to the garden numerous times over the years and love to stroll through to see and smell the roses. If you are close by, come to the Garden during the spring... More

For decades Thomasville enjoyed being the home to the Hjort's rose test garden. There were acres of every shade of every color? Like many local brides, the roses for my wedding were chosen and purchased at Hjort's. Upon the family's retirement from the test garden business, the property (located at the corner of Smith Ave and Pinetree Blvd) could not... More

While we were here in January, the flowers had few blossoms. I can only imagine the beauty when in full bloom. That being said, you can still go for a nice walk, feed the ducks and if you have children, there are some swing sets, etc Great place for a picnic. Good place to meet friends.
