The park is on the small size compared to other State Parks but the hikes are beautiful and the town is a small quaint typical small southern mountain town. Good food and some interesting shopping spots like Cat's Meow.

This is not Shenandoah National Park in Virginia but you could almost imagine that you're there. The road in FDR State Park runs on the top of the ridge just like Skyline Drive in Shenandoah, but at a much lower altitude. It's lovely and there...More

HUGE so we didn't get to see a lot of it in one weekend. Friendly staff for the most part. Campground is well maintained with clean bathrooms and plenty of space. We will be back.

This campground was exceptional. The view of the lake is gorgeous. The sites are very nice and most are shady. The restrooms are very clean.

Love coming down here to spend early spring or fall. The scenery is always pretty and don't be surprised by the mountains of Southwest Georgia...You can even check out the part that was FDR favorite place to sit and lookout pondering the war effort...

We took a trip just the two of us and explored local sites and trails. We loved the facilities and the people were great to deal with!

We found cottage number 6 just perfect for our needs during a long weekend visit to the area. It was clean, comfortable centrally located. The kitchen was fully stocked except for paper towels. The bath and bedroom were just roomy enough. We would definitely recommend.
