A hidden treasure in Boise. Love the Women in Mining exhibit. Easy to get to. Family friendly. Onsite geologists will even help identify rocks if you bring a pocket full.

This museum is located at a hub of activities. You can do the Idaho Penitentiary and Botanical Gardens from one parking spot. The museum is staffed with a resident geologist willing to answer questions. Amazing display and maps.

Visited museum with my 16 year old granddaughter that has a real interest in geology. Really knows a lot about the formation within Idaho. Museum had a significant number of exhibits to understand the geological progress of the region. Helpful volunteer staff. Admission- free.
