It was a nice tour. You are free to walk around and check out the various chambers as you please. I wish there was a guided tour option so that you can get more of a historical insight as to it's founding and major legislation passed. Other than that it is a very good time to spend with the kids... More

We stopped here after a class one day. It was great. We were able to see most of this beautiful building and even one of the halls before a session (the house chamber). A cool historic stop.

The Idaho State Capitol Building is really a beautiful building and is essentially right downtown so is an easy visit if you are in this area of the city. It has a beautiful rotunda and some interesting artwork. Well worth a stop.

We arranged a tour for our daughter and her husband and 9 year old son on one of their visits. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the state House and the history of Idaho especially pertaining to the capital. He was also able to educate us on the day to day operations there. This capital building has been renovated and... More

Visiting Idaho's capitol will hopefully continue to be a treat. Even the faux marble looks real and a reminder of the nation's capitol building is apparent. The amount of construction that is occurring on the street leading to the capitol may interfere with the original plans to have an unobstructed view down Capitol Blvd. to the original, vintage train depot.... It's fantastic (seriously) to learn about one's capital. Whether you're from here or just visiting, why not take in some culture? I usually hate "field trip"-esque journeys but this one was very interesting. You dont have to spend more than an hour here. And it's always cool to tell people you saw the capital and give some little piece of... More

Wow, the marble in this place is impressive, as is the art, it's a wonderful experience to go and see more about our state's capitol. Totally worth the time.

Exploring the capital doesn't take a lot of time. Easily fits into busy schedules since you provide yourself with the tour. You feel free to come and go wherever you please and take all the time you want to sit in chairs or stare at the inside of the rotunda or go to the top floor and peek out the... More

Take the tour, it is extremely interesting. The new basement addition has been done beautifully. This is great for learning about where state government happens. All of the meeting and hearing rooms are nicely done, and the rotunda is lovely.
