It was a beautiful sunny April day and we walked for hours reading the names of all of the varieties of vegetation and on some , the history, origins and use of the plants. The sculptures that have are placed all over the grounds are incredible. Children's areas are fun even for adults. The pond with Koi is a very... More

The gardens are spectacular now with almost everything in bloom. They have really increased in size and maturity of plants over the last fifteen years, so if it's been a while, or you've never been there, definitely take a few hours and enjoy the scenery. Along with all the variety of plants, trees, and flowers, there are a lot of... More

Took a leisurely walk through the gardens. Photo ops with the family. Quaint and lovely. Not a huge place, but enough for an hour or two of flower gazing.

While not huge, the Idaho Botanical Garden is a really beautiful spot. Located next to the Old Idaho Penitentiary (also worth a visit), the gardens are perfectly kept, the buildings are spotless, and the volunteers are very friendly and know a lot about the plants. School tours can be organized. Entrance rates are cheap.

The Botanical Garden has expansive grounds. There is a wide variety on display. We were there on a beautiful Spring day during early May. Very few of the plants were in bloom. Perhaps in a few weeks, there will be much more to see. Pictured below from the pond are some of the largest Koi that I've ever seen.

Things were not quite in bloom yet. Looks like they are adding on and getting ready for summer. Went on a weekday.

Looking for something to do make sure you stop at these gorgeous Botanical Gardens. The walking is easy to get around and there is a lot of history about all the flowers and plants.

Took my elementary school-aged grandkids for a visit a couple weeks ago. This is favorite spot for us. They love getting to meander around the garden, hike up to the top and look over Boise. No matter how many times we go, it never gets old. This Botanical Garden is always updating and expanding. Well kept.

We attended several concerts here and loves them. Bring your own picnic, kick back and enjoy a great evening outside.
