I've lived in this area all of my life and had never visited this museum until recently. This is a great little museum with lots of local and interesting history. We spent about 2 hours in here because there is so much to take in in this small space. Completely worth the $4 admission for some local education.

The museum itself was pretty small, but it has a lot of history packed into it on the steam boats, logging, Native Americans, and early settlers. They also have a temporary exhibit on the railroads right now. Took us about an hour to go through without watching the video.

This small museum has an interesting overview of life "back in the day" in North Idaho when the steamboat was king. It has info on the timber industry and forestry. The gift shop is a good place for area souvenirs, and they have a pulbished a wide variety of books that are also for sale.

Takes about an hour with the movie. Covers a lot of subtle details about the early history of the area. Special exhibit about trains and their impact on the history of North Idaho.

Well worth the $4 adult ticket price. Between the half hour movie and then touring the museum we learned so much about the area. Highly recommend if you visit beautiful Coeur d'Alene. The gentleman working there was really great...friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks!!

The museum is small, well done with a very friendly volunteer staff. Sadly, the area is under construction and getting to the entrance of the museum proved rather difficult. Signage for the entrance was not up to date either. It is worth seeing.

Located in a converted building adjacent to the City Park and parking, this museum offers a surprising look onto the past of the liitle-known, yet fascinating, area of North Idaho. Summer 2016 has a unique presentation of the railroad's effect on the area's history.

Informative of the area and lots of artifacts of the area. It had pictures of some of the old logging and told how the area grew. You will enjoy this museum.

It was Museum Day so we stopped by this little museum and the staff were very friendly and welcoming . The video was informative and gave us the history of the community but the museum itself was a bit primitive and not as interesting. Allow 30-45 minutes for a visit and the entrance fee is only $4.00 so it's a... More

We went to the Museum of North Idaho which is close to the lake. We parked there, paid our admission, and they gave us a parking sticker to put us in our car so we could see the museum. The staff there is very helpful in explaining the museum and letting us know about the movie one could see about... More
