Lido
About
Protecting the Venetian Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea, this long and narrow barrier island beckons you to indulge in a relaxing day on its sandy shores. Tour the Lido on a rented bike and discover centuries-old locations suspended in time, like the Jewish Cemetery and the quaint Malamocco village. You can reach Lido by water bus from Venice’s old core, and it takes just over a couple of hours to hike end to end. Visit in the warmer months; the island comes to life in late August and early September when it hosts the prestigious Venice Film Festival. – Tripadvisor

    Lido di Venezia getaway
The really nice thing about Lido di Venezia is that you can get away from the overcrowding of Venice itself. The streets and sidewalks are open and less crowded. We were there at the same time that the Venice Film Festival was happening and it was still remarkably less crowded! Anyway, it's a nice walk from the vaporetto stop to the beach. We opted for the private beach, more expensive, but with a couple of different places to eat and get drinks. It was very relaxing, the water was warm, it was quiet and a totally great getaway withing our trip to Venice, Italy.

Great hotel away from the main island crowd.
The beach, the location, pretty much everything was amazing. Breakfast was sooo good! The swimming pool, gym and room, clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. We loved it. The streets and sidewalks are open and less crowded.

    Soo relaxing
Even in winter I would recommend to go and spend some time on Lido island - so relaxing after main Venecia center. There are many beautiful seashells (allowed to take), and the beach was nice. And with ACTV from San Marco Plaza we managed with one ticket to go to Lido, spend time there and ticket was valid for return trip till railway station. In summer we would spend even more time. Only downside - there are cars on island.

The Lido beach in Venice is the most comfortable, I think one of my favorite beaches is as if you were in a swimming pool but it is the real sea. simply glorious.

Lovely quiet island with great beaches in summer. Rent a bike and wander. You will not need more than 62 hours to know the Lido back to front.

Most uninspiring. It was a pure waste of time. Beach is dirty brown sand. Old hotels are falling apart. Not sure what it would take to breath life into this wasteland.

Venice is a very beautiful place, but the best day we had in Venice was actually when we decided to buy ourself tickets for the ACTV and go to Lido. Very atmospheric and much calmer place with less crowded streets.

Nice place to spend a couple hours away from the crowds of Venice’s main island. Lido is quieter, there was almost no one on the beach when I went to watch the sun set over the Adriatic
