We visited and unfortunately only had a little time to explore, mostly just used the park for a campsite to spend one night. The campsites are basic with hookups if you choose those loops, paved, nice and flat. They are average in privacy. The park itself is very spread apart and to pay for your campsite you need to drive... More

OMG. I love this place. it has some much to offer. Varied terrain, west side of lake, east side of lake, the point for views of the lake, running terrain, easy terrain, many connected trails to choose from to put together a different experience each time you visit. Because it is a pennisula, it is unique. Along the walks you... More

The park and entire area is beautiful. The mountains, the trees, the lake. Loved exploring, taking in the beautiful views and the fresh air. First time to that part of Idaho. It was great. And the town of McCall is wonderful.

we take our dogs here to play in the water and on the beach. we can let them run without being on a leash. It is so quite during the off season which I enjoy.

Spectacular lake and woods, with exc ellent access throughout. The little cabins on the lake look terrific, but might be a challenging to get to in the winter.

Great State Park and plenty of great views of Payette Lake! Definitely hike up to the top of the overlook! You won't regret it!

We came into the campground at the end of a long, tiring day. There was not any staff around to help us. We had to drive around quite a while to figure out where the campsites were. Several loops were closed for the season. The restrooms were nice, but very cold. Ponderosa State Park is absolutely lovely, but could be... More

I went on a 4 mile hike here and enjoyed every step. Birds, ducks, squirrels and chipmunks galore. Saw plenty of bigger animal tracks, but that's all I saw. The trees, colors and vistas are amazing. Don't listen to your iPod while walking. Listen to nature...

This area is beautiful!! My husband and I are used to touring around Lake Tahoe in CA/NV. This is definitely like a mini-Tahoe, and is just as stunning. Definitely worth the drive from Boise. We went in early October and there was hardly anyone there. Very peaceful and quiet.
