Great place to visit. Beautiful, nice drive, wildlife, camping, boating, kayaking, picnicking, hiking. Easy drive in the woods

Nice - but road was under construction
Sep 2020
Due to the main road being closed for repaving we hiked to the end of the park where there is a beautiful view of the lake from the top of the cliff. It was well worth the hike - we just wish we could have driven because we were short on time and ended up not being able to do everything we had planned that day...but that's life, right? The park is well worth a stop and has nice picnic areas, bathrooms, etc.

Snowshoeing at it's best
Feb 2021
Spent Valentines Day in the park snowshoeing. Found easy parking, the trails were groomed nicely, with easy maps to read. Loved the experience.

Great location, ruined by selfish folks that just don't care about others.
Jan 2021
The park has pretty much anything you'd want to recreate outdoors at any point during the year.

The winter ski trails are great, unless its a weekend or holiday. The grooming crew is absolutely outstanding, but trail users (especially walkers and snowshoers) pretty much trash them. The skate trails close to the activity center are the equivalent of skiing on a washboard dirt road by mid-morning. Trail etiquette anywhere is pretty much non-existent.

During the summer the boat ramp is nice, but once again, oftentimes crowded by folks that leave their boat moored throughout the day or overnight (not allowed, its supposed to be launch/recovery only), or folks that decide to park in the middle of the launch ramp while they take several minutes to prep/load/unload their boat completely oblivious to others waiting to launch/recover.

beautiful hiking but terrible trail signage and map
Oct 2020
We hiked this park for almost a full day and it has some great trails and wonderful vistas. The only problem we had was that the trail map supplied and the trails have little resemblance to each other. There are trails and forks from trails that don't appear on the map and there are trails on the map that have no relation to anything on the ground. They need much better signage here but other than that it is a wonderful way to spend a day with the lake views on the outer trails and the marsh views on the inner trails. We even saw some deer. It is also much further to walk than the map indicates. The map will state that a trail is just .5 miles long but it fails to tell you that you have to walk 3 miles to get to the .5 mile trail even though the sign for that trail is 3 miles away. Need better signage!

We spent 2 days here while in Mccall with the children. A beautiful place along the water that is accessible for all levels.

Beautiful

A large area park with hiking/biking/walking galore. Several easy accesses to the lake shore. A full hookup RV park at the entrance is available. $5.00 per automobile fee. Close enough to most of McCall to bike to and from.

Love the trails and lake views!
Sep 2020
Has some excellent hiking trailing with a variety of scenery... such as forests, marshes, the lake, rocky terrain, grassy meadows, etc. It offers trails for only hiking, others for bikes (pedal or e-powered). Has easy and harder trail difficulties. On a beautiful day it's a fabulous way to get some healthy exercise.

Drove the loop
Aug 2020 • Family
Go at sunset and drive the loop. Sit at the tippy top and watch the sun set. Just beautiful! Last part to the top is very bumpy so am suv would be recommended. It’s also narrow at the top.
