This is the second time we've climbed the hill and I actually found it easier this time, probably down to me giving up smoking! We parked at the side of the road part way up the back road out of Barley just before the entrance to the footpath. Lots of people start there rather than from the main car park... More

Great place to go for a nice scenic walk, top tip start from 5 and work your way backwards to 1. First tip the lady in the café gave us. Nice easy walk some muddy trail's, bliss sound of tranquil water running along the walk. Various views from different points of the walk. Nice touch to the walk. Highly recommended.... More

Park up in Barley and follow any one of the well signed routes up to the trig point on top of "the big end" of Pendle. Wrap up warm and be ready for strong winds on even a calm day. The views make the effort well worthwhile.

Having been brought up in Brierfield i saw Pendle Hill everyday. I first did this walk when i was 17 and have been back to Pendle many times since. This is a great walk for everyone including those with children. I always go up the steep side (on the right as you're looking at it from Brierfield/Barley etc) and then... More

Been twice now. Once with friends and again with family and young children. They loved it and the kids were marching ahead full of energy. A good day out with kids and adults alike. The views are amazing. We stopped by the picnic site after for food and ball games.

We set off in winter clothes from Barley on a sunny autumn morning at around 9am. It wasn't long before I was regretting my choice of clothing as despite the cool temperatures I was working up a sweat due to the incline so I had to carry my winter coat. Towards the top of the well marked path the wind... More
