We love the train here, we went on the Summer, Halloween and this year the Christmas train too, what a fabulous experience! It was fun for the whole family - our new born looking at the lights, or 3 year old waving to all the decorations, our 9 year old making up stories as we travelled through the woods and the adults throughly enjoying the ride (and the mulled wine and mince pie!!) All the operating staff were exceptional, extremely friendly. Definitely coming back! Thank you

Been to 5 Christmas events so far (4 with train) although you don’t get to meet Santa / visit a groto this one was by far the best one. People very friendly. The experience was magical from start to finish. Lots of effort put in and the little pit stop where drinks/snacks offered for adults & kids was lovely! Would definitely recommend

This has been our favourite christmas thing to do this year! Our 2 year old absolutely loved it, so much so that we had a tantrum when he had to get off. All staff made a massive effort and were really lovely people. Can't wait to return next year!

Absolutely fantastic, took a 5 and 3 year old on the Santa special and it was clear the effort everyone was making to do something special. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgable, and the line itself and locomotives are first class. Really lovely morning and highly recommended.

Just to say well done to EHR for bravely trying to run the Halloween evening after 12 hours+ rain. Yook grandchildren who enjoyed dressing up and the costume competition, rides on the roundabout etc. Sadly as we were just about to queue up for the train ride we were all told train rides were cancelled due to rising water levels out on the track!
But evening enjoyed by kids so well done.

Thank you for your kind comments :)
As you can imagine after all the planning that went into this event, how disappointed we all were with having to cancel the event part way through :(
By the next morning, the track was under almost 3 feet of flood water! Thankfully no damage was done, and trains were running again once the waters had receded.
We hope you will visit us again soon (on a drier day!)

We visited the area on Bank Holiday Monday and were not disappointed! With 3 boys under the age of 10, what better than steam trains cutting through beautiful scenery, going under bridges, etc! It was great value for money as we bought a return ticket, so could get off at one end and the children could play in the adjacent play parks and get an ice cream. We were then able to do the return leg of the journey on a different train as there were 6 different ones running that day. Would highly recommend!

How lovely it was to see ‘The Station Masters Garden’ a miniature off shoot of the main railway being bought back to life. It was sad to see the site neglected and falling into disrepair. I had a pleasant chat with Jim. Steptoe who was busy working hard to restore the railway to its former glory. Well done Jim.and his fellow enthusiasts.

Yes, we can take all ages. There are carriages where passengers sit astride, young children sit in front of an adult who hold them. We also have sit in carriages where small children can either sit on an adults lap or in the seat opposite an adult.
Do come back to us if you have any other questions.
Kind regards
The EWR Team
