We have skied Bald Mountain years before when we were skiing regularly and spent most of our time on the Warm mountain side. After 10 years of not skiing we revisited Bald Mountain and enjoyed the River Run and Seattle Ridge side. Compared to all other ski resorts we have visited their "green" runs are few and unless it is... More

This place in Sun Valley Idaho, rocks! It's a great place to ski, and for some reason it's not "known" like say, Vail, Breckenridge, etc., so it's not as crowded. The skiing is awesome! They have runs that are pretty vertical and steep. It's beautiful, and we stayed at The Sun Valley Lodge, and our room had a large tub... More

For perfect pitch, no gentle slow down runs and an adrenaline fix, there is nothing like the "Face of Warm Springs". A thigh burner. Do it top to bottom without stopping. Focus on perfectly carved controlled turns or you won't make it. 3,400 of perfect vertical feet.

Very steep with long runs ( 3100 vertical feet from top to bottom). Even though the trail map shows some "green" runs- they" ain't green " compared with other similar mountains. Surprisingly, most people on the mountain are skiers - with very few snowboarders. Most skiers you see are very accomplished.

Before this I had ridden on lots of logging roads and trails here and there, but this was my first time taking my bike up a ski lift and then downhill riding down - what a thrill! I had some good crashes learning to navigate banked turns and then trying to speed off the mountain when lightening started was a... More

Our first time here. It snowed, became a blue sky day on Saturday. Snowed a bunch more. Very windy at the top but was sheltered farther down. Sunday and Monday more snow. No crowds, ever. Fabulous, fabulous facilities.

Plug "River Run Lodge" into your GPS for accurate directions. There are upper and lower parking lots at no charge, or $50 for valet (Winter). This mountain has so many incredible runs for different skill levels and desires. It's not cheap for a day lift ticket, so save your pennies and do it right. Across from the Lodge is the... More

Sun Valley is a gem. Bald Mountain being the local hill. It's so funny how locals complain about lines. They have never skied in California. Long lines means waiting more than 5 minutes. If you don't go during Xmas/ New Year you can expect no lines and lots of hill. Before you go make sure there is snow and you... More

Sun Valley is a wonderful lovely ski town. PLEASE NOTE: You must rent a car if you like freedom to travel after 4:30 pm. The free busses are lovely -- however they stop running around 4:30 pm. So if you are not at the Sun Valley Resort where they offer free shuttles everywhere, you must have a rental car. Also,... More

This is the place to go for long, long runs with a constant slope. The mountain is spectacular to ski, simply put, its the best. Everyone is incredibly hospitable at the mountain. The lift operators greet you and help you with your stuff. The parking lot attendants will help you unload your car into a blue wagon and pull it... More
