The area is arid desert, but the park at the falls is a lush lawn with many shade trees from the natural springs coming out of the canyon walls. Come prepared to have a picnic lunch on the lawn, walk over to see the water falls (yawn! Its August) and then go where all the locals hang out by driving... More

Although I visited this place in November when the falls wasn't so active, I still recommend this place. Located in Twin Falls region, off I-84 this place is a must see attraction for all age group of people. Quite appropriately it's called the Niagara of the west.

Shoshone Falls is a must see and something you don't expect. It is so close to town great history lesson. Great place for a walk can actually see where Evil Kneivel jumped. Great picnic area also has a snack and souvenir shop.

The place was still beautiful even if the falls was not gushing with water( they close the dam during fall season) Spring and summer are the best time to visit to really enjoy the water falls.

The falls is much more impressive in person than any photo can show. Nice viewing area and trails to explore. A must stop if in the area. This is call the Niagra Falls of the west. It is higher than Niagra Falls and very beautiful!

A fellow traveler recommended I go to Shoshone Falls and I'm so glad I did! It was such a beautiful sight to see and felt like it came out of nowhere! I went twice; once during the week and once on the weekend to come back and hike around Dierkes Lake. The drive down winds around providing multiple spots to... More

The site of the Falls is pretty cool. I got off to an early start and I was the only person in the little park that overlooks the Falls. I highly recommend the early start. There is plenty of information at the park with respect to the Falls and the Twin Falls area.
