As it was Heritage Weekend, I visited with my husband. Our tour guide was excellent, she was very knowledgeable, and explained how the church was set up and where all the people used to live, where the doctor, shops and pubs were situated and how the members were self sufficient with their own animals and looked after their elderly members.... Went to visit with a pal from London who was playing tourist, and as I'd visited 30 years ago and was free to go, I recommended that we paid a visit. We got chatting to a lovely lady gardening in the communal gardens & she gave us lots of information. Just before the open 'Heritage ' weekend, so I will... More

Walk down the cobbled streets at night under the former gas lamp Street lights and feel like you're on a Dickensian type film set. Visit the unique Moravian church and community centre during the weekend open days. Amazing history in this settlement.

Step back in time. The Moravian Settlement dates from 1785. It's a small community of flower laden homes and a Church.

Nice place for a little stroll ending up on the canal. Very cute road and nice buildings, not much to see not the biggest settlement but very nice, you feel like you are back in time.

I highly recommend visiting the Fairfield Moravian Settlement at night in winter. This is genuinely like a travel back in time experience like no other. Untouched house fronts, church, school and shops. This is a free experience and one not to miss if you have a passion for history

You would not expect this place where it is! It's gorgeous although not sure you could spend too much time here. Well worth a look.

We have been to the Moravian Settlement twice during the Heritage Open Day Weekends in September. It is still well looked after and the streets look very much like period drama locations, which of course they have been. Go into the Museum to see the photos of the TV programmes featured. It is well worth a visit. The DVD is... More

We visited on a Heritage Open Day and took advantage of the free guided tour. This settlement of brick houses and cobbled streets surrounding the church is like stepping back in time to a bygone era. Our guide, Barbara, who has lived there most of her life, gave us a friendly, informative tour with just the right amount of information... More

The Moravian Settlement is a fascinating piece of history. We visited during a Heritage Weekend when it was free entry. There is a small museum and plenty to look at. Very interesting.
