Fun for everyone

The zoo is always fun to visit. Great exercise walking around the zoo and a good 2 hours gets the kids fun and time to run around and the ready for a nap.

Despite the cold temp and brisk breeze, we enjoyed the holiday lights at our first visit to the zoo right after Christmas. We attended with our grown son and his wife, as she grew up in the area and was familiar with the zoo. We really enjoyed the lights, but think that arriving during the afternoon would be the way... We come to Brookfield Zoo every holiday season to view the Holiday Magic light show, and are never disappointed. This year the show was spectacular with a new light show. Bundle up and come up even if you don't have kids. If you have kids, they have plenty of activities, including an 8 p.m. New Year's Eve countdown, and the... More

We went to the zoo and received a tip that showing up around 2 or 3pm for the holiday lights was the way to go. That way you can still see some of the animals during the daylight and you miss the afternoon rush trying to get in for the lights. We were also able to see the lights starting... More

Entering the zoo I didn't know what to expect, we went to the first building which was the Australian building. Pretty sweet till we saw a door that... More

This is a great zoo. They keep making major improvements to the infrastructure and the animals and the public win!! Over the years they have created Tropic World, new seal pens, a gorgeous penguin house, beautiful bison area, polar bear pools, and now this was my first experience in the Wild Encounters area which used to be the old children's... As a vegetarian I have to say it was weird going to a zoo BUT then I found out that the zoo is known for taking care of rescue-animals and I have to say they really do. They try to create an environment which comes as close as possible to the natural one. That's why the prices are so expensive.... More
