Cycled this with a girlfriend (we are in our 50's). We were both on comfortable commuter cycles from Trail Journeys who organised this and the Clutha Gold trail to follow. WOW - Ive done quite a few cycle trails but the Roxburgh Gorge one is...More

This trail has been well-constructed and is maintained to a very high standard. One hopes that if the trail is connected, it does not become too commercialised. The jet boat transfer gave us the opportunity to view some of the remaining miners' huts and one...More

Completed the trail as a family of four. Great weather. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Trail suitable for all levels of rider. Views wonderful. SheBikesHeBikes planned our itinerary, arranged the boat, dropped out bags at our accommodation and generally made life very easy for us. Thanks Carol...More

Just amazing scenery. We visited the Clutha Gold trail, which was lovely cycling but the Roxburgh Gorge was just dramatically beautiful.

Whats great is the focus on the river and the history with the gold mining. I have biked Alex to Doctors point a couple of times but to catch the jetboat to Shingle creek and see the river from there was great - to see...More

My husband and I loved this trail, and covered it easily in 1 day from Clyde, along the river trail, to Roxburgh Dam. There are some steep drop offs, so we were really pleased to be able to enjoy it without our bouncy 11 year...More

We recently cycled the Roxburgh Gorge trail from Alexandra to Roxburgh. WOW! I've done a number of other cycle trails, but Roxburgh is definitely the highlight, purely because of the dramatic scenery and the variation in the terrain. We were lucky enough to have fabulous...More

This is a great ride with spectacular scenery. Jet boat ride between Doctors point and Shingle creek was informative and fun. Section towards the dam is steep in places but not too bad if reasonably fit. A bit difficult for my novice kids but they...More

Hello, I have not done the jetboat ride myself, but this is a still hydro lake, NO rapids. Would only be rough if the driver made it so or because of weather. Thanks, Xavier xx
