The Shedd Aquarium is a fantastic place. All ages will be amazed. I think they said the have over 36,000 specimens. I recommend buying "advance tickets" to avoid the ticket lines. I recommend buying the "total experience" tickets to get the full feel of the aquarium. It may seem pricey but it is well worth it. All displays were well... More

It's a pretty average aquarium. Nothing special, nothing unique. It's got your reptiles, your fish, etc.

This is great stop for all ages. I am from Omaha where we have an amazing Zoo/aquarium, so i am spoiled. We went to one of the shows here and loved it...with the lake in the background made for a great view. The show was also very funny. I could spend an entire day here really.

Been there a few times, as a kid and a few years ago. A lot of things to do there. Could easily be a whole or half day thing!

This aquarium is worth going to. The displays vary from huge aquariums to small ones. One of the most interesting was the seahorse aquarium. The best though were the beluga whales and dolphins. I didn't watch the show but bought the ticket where you can visit the beluga whale pool and the underwater aquarium of the whales and dolphin. Seeing... More

We went there during our last day in Chicago and we were amazed by all the animals that were well taken care of. Our favorite were the otters and beluga whales! Not to mention, they have the amazing view outside 👍🏼

Preferable for a summer midweek trip. Can get really expensive with all the extras but they seem to be worth it. The wild reef was a pleasant experience.

If your visiting the city of Chicago you must visit the aquarium, heck make a day of it and visit the aquarium, field museum and the planetary. All attractions are within walking distance along the lake front. However the John G Shedd Aquarium is magnificent, it's a place you'll never forget . The attractions will have the normal person staring... More

I do like the local exhibits on Great lakes aquatic life, that was interesting and different. The dolphin show, was more about dogs and sea otters and very short. You do not need more than two hours here, price is high.

Hello, thanks for visiting Shedd Aquarium! We are so glad you enjoyed our Great Lakes gallery. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed by our aquatic presentation. The animal behaviors in the presentation are natural to each of the species and encouraged through positive reinforcement training. The aquatic presentation is different every day, and in fact, every time,... More

Fantastic. Dolphins were good, but the Beluga whales were a real treat to see. Great place. The other displays were nice, and you pat a sturgeon which was something that you do not do often in life. Location is great as well
