This is the Oxford Street of Chicago. All the big stores and names lots of good restaurants and the Loop trains ratting on the iron girders above your head - unique.

Start at the bridge and walk up one side and down the other visiting your favorite stores along the way. Then finish at the riverside end for a walk along the riverside, admire the beautiful architecture that Chicago has to offer

This is a great part of Chicago. All the famous high street brands are there, including some local delights like Dylan's Candy Bar. Also a very pleasant walk with lots of places to rest.

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Staying at Hyatt Regency in Rosemont (Chicago) and have never been before. Need some ideas for 2-3 days. Going to a convention there Aug.2017 for a Fest. Would like to arrive at least a couple days beforehand but not sure what there is to do, and how many days before would be good. Convention is on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Yes with a good pair of runners or walking shoes.
Do you need a rental car or can you walk to whalers village, or shopping, restaurants etc? Is there a local shuttle or bus? Can you ride bus to airport?
