If I ever have trouble finding something, I come to Macy's. They seem to have everything, from designer purses to delicious candy - but be prepared to pay! Parts of the store are actually beautiful (tiffany ceiling!) - and outside during the holidays is a must see! They go all out decorating for the Holidays.

I grew up with Marshall Fields as the primary department store in our area. I always loved everything about it. I have to admit that I was disappointed when Macy's bought the stores and moved in. But, I'm so pleased that they have maintained the flagship store on State Street in Chicago. This part of town had been running into... More

Ai giant department store. Anything you'd expect at Macy's or any of its competitors is here. Shop to your heart's content and then stop buy Starbucks for a coffee to recoup your energy!

For decades, this was the largest department store in the world (double its current size). Selfridge was a senior manager for over 20 years before he moved to London and created a comparable store on his own there. The entire store was refurnished by its prior owners. And we native Chicagoans still call it Marshall Field's, never Macy's. Fortunately, the... More

Our favorite store to visit around the Christmas holiday. Old fashioned store front window displays show animated Christmas themes every year. A great place for every age. The Walnut Room can be very busy but the food and the atmosphere is fabulous. The inside of the store is from a different age. It is beautifully ornate and covers seven floors... More
