Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Abraham Lincoln Monument is placed on Court of Presidents in Grant Park.

The statue was designed and created by an acclaimed American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens in the early 1900s, and it was installed in Grant Park in 1926. A 9ft (2.7m) tall bronze statue is set on a pedestal and a 150ft (46 m) wide marble setting, designed by architect Stanford White.

Court of Presidents is a very large, open space in the park, and even at a closer distance the monument looks isolated. If the idea and the architectural goal was to present a sculptural image of President Lincoln as contemplative, then that goal was perfectly accomplished. We look at the Head of State, lonely and somber. In this perception the monument is very impressive and evokes deep, respectful thoughts.

These days, the Grant Park grounds are undergoing restoration, that will hopefully also include the restoration of the grounds and the renovation of overall landscaping at the site of this historic monument, as well.
