This is not really a tourist attraction, but I found it by accident when I strayed too far underground in one of the buildings. It is simply an underground walkway, mainly used by business workers, to connect buildings (especially in the winter). It is hard...More

Whether a resident or tourist, the Pedway is a great way to explore the City of Chicago. You experience stores, hotels, offices and public buildings in a new and unique way. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Just print a free map online and follow the...More

I had a map of the Pedway, but it certainly didn't detail the fact that some sections are closed on the weekends (probably holidays too), making other sections totally inaccessible from underground. It was also complicated to figure out where to enter and which way...More

The pedway can be used only as a covered way to move from one place to another. Various maps of it can be found online with a quick internet search. However, visitors and locals with a sense of adventure or an interest in city planning...More

I don't know that I would take a paid "tour" of the Pedway, but on our last visit to the city we stayed at the Hyatt Regency by the river, and its lower levels lead into a Pedway section that we had fun exploring for...More

I live in Chicago for about 20 years ... and I didn't learned about pedways since recently...I did use some of them without knowing that there is a whole system and they have a name Pedways and that there are even maps showing where they...More

We had fun walking in the pedway. The pedway is a set of some underground, some above ground tunnels that go from building to building. There are maps online and in town if you want to see where they go. There are also maps in...More

We took the Pedway Tour with Eddie as our tour guide. He was just awful and we spent most of our time above ground and ended at the Cultural Center. We only were down below ground level for a few minutes. We spent at least...More

If you are a suburbanite or city dweller who works or shops in the Loop, you surely have become acquainted with the Chicago Pedway. If you are a tourist, you probably haven't. But you should. The Chicago Pedway is a network of tunnels, ground-level concourses...More

The nice thing about the Chicago Pedway is that it is there, a sort of surprise, kind of a secret, which really stretches across the loop, but has limited access, availability, times that it is open, and no special shops. Learn it and use it...More

Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy
Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of
restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities.
You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the
docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the
captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you
enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you
can also visit other popular attractions there such as

There are no escalators on the pedway itself, but you can get to the Pedway on an escalator through Macy's or the State Street subway entrance.
