Known for great acoustics, it is considered one of the best outdoor concert experiences in the city. There are also many concerts held here that are free to the public throughout the summer months. The Chicago Blues Festival held over 3 days in June is one of the highlights of this free concert series in the park.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 March 2024

It is impressive to see on it's own, I'm sure during a concert or performance it would be amazing. When we arrived they were just finishing a music practice for an upcoming performance, so that was nice to hear. Enjoyed sitting here and enjoying the space.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 June 2024

They played Copland’s Appalachian Spring & Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony. The acoustics are amazing & the ushers are all so friendly and helpful. If you are in Chicago, don’t miss the chance to hear a concert here.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 August 2024

It is a gem of Millenium Park… not surprisingly it is because it was designed by incomparable Frank Gehry. Whimsical metal curves shining in the sky, bold sharp lines of the roof, striking contrasts with surrounding green lawns and bright flower beds create an everlasting impression the modern age. It is so appropriate for the vision of the Millennium Park.

2021-May: Really cool outdoor entertainment venue. We just passed by. This area has been corded along its perimeter and no one us allowed even within the grass area. It was not like this when i visited 5 years ago.

The Jewish Architect Frank Gehry designed this 40 meters high masterpiece donated by Jay Pritzker to the city of Chicago. Maybe the number one attraction in the Millennium park . Open air performances and concerts with perfect acoustics.

This is just an awesome looking venue. The way the metal bends it almost looks liquid. It is a perfect pairing with the Bean. There are plenty of seats and a massive lawn behind the seats. When the venue isn't being used the lawn doubles as a very well-maintained park.

... and superbly functional, at that.
Designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry, this pavilion in the Millennium Park hosts all types of concerts, rehearsals, sports events, and of course the Chicago Jazz Festival. Many of these events provide free admission for the public of all ages. The Pavilion opened to public in 2004.
The structure of Jay Pritzker Pavilion is so unique from the engineering point of view that even if you are not an engineer you most likely will be fascinated by its design, especially by its spider-like trellis network that provides perfect sound projection for the audience sitting (standing, lying down) on the Great Lawn of the park (the capacity is above ten thousand people), and also by the unforgettable stainless steel headdress. The pavilion is enormous, and its imposing, but light-weight futuristic looks can compete with the beautiful skyline of the city. Or rather, they complement it.
Watching the concert at the Jazz Festival I still couldn't take my eyes off the magnetic structure of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. What a stunning creation!

The architecture here is something very special!
I just could not take my eyes off this stunning design and venue!
Great musical concerts are performed here.
The formal seating area is very special but the sound system for the lawn seating area is awesome so you can enjoy the music no matter where you sit.
This is one of the many special locations in Millennium Park and it is so close to the lake. Just a fantastic location in the city.
You must go see and photograph this amazing structure!!

For a concert, do the pit seats actually have seats or standing? TY

It's called Millenium Park Garage. The vehicle entrance for the Millennium Park Garage is on South Columbus Drive between Monroe Street (from the south, heading north) and Randolph Street (from the north, heading south).
