We were in Chicago for a wedding and only had one evening to book a "tourist" activity. We decided his Architectural boat tour would be a good choice for our group of 15 to get an overview of the city. We chose the 6:15 time slot, so we could see the city both in the daylight and at sunset. Both... More

The architecture tour is quite fun and informative (it largely depends on your guide). Seeing the city by the river offers unparalleled views, but I would recommend first timers going on a water taxi instead. You see the same buildings for a tenth of the price. And you have fewer people crowding on one boat.

I met my friend in Chicago for a girls weekend. We had a lot on our bucket list, so we weren't sure if we were going to do it all. My friend had heard that this tour was a MUST. I was hesitant, since I'm not terribly interested in architecture, but we ended up at Navy Pier just in time,... More

I took an architecture river tour one morning in November. I think that may be somewhat of an off-season but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and actually appreciated that it wasn't crowded. If you take a morning tour, I don't advise doing the one on the lake. The morning of my tour there was heavy fog. Luckily it burned... More

During a recent trip to Chicago for work, I had a little down time and was staying close to the River Walk where Shoreline docks. It was my first time in Chicago, so I decided to take the Architecture Cruise to learn more about the city. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed the cruise. Adam, our guide,... More

Very knowledgeable guide with a very fast but interesting patter about many buildings along the Chicago River and who built them and the history around them!

Loved every minute of the ride. The host (Ben?) was not just knowledgeable, but quite witty as well! Do take it towards the late afternoon when people are leaving offices. Offers quite a contrasting views in different parts of the ride.

We were walking on the east side of Michigan Avenue near the Tribune Tower, the weather was perfect and we had 2 hours to kill so we bought tickets for the Architectural Tour on the Chicago River. I kept muttering, "Who knew?!" to my husband during the tour. I learned a lot about the history of Chicago and the buildings... More

Rachel was our hostess. She did a wonderful job of explaining when and how each building came to be. We had a wonderful afternoon on the tour and it was November. It was a great way to see the City.

We took the Architecture Tour, which was a great way to see the city's towering skyscrapers along the Chicago River. Tour guide was informative, but she did seem a bit bored at times and wasn't as enthusiastic as guides on other similar tours I've taken. Be warned that the boat does not have much shelter from the sun or rain.
