This is a quiet park just north of Navy Pier. The one thing that I really noticed was how quiet it was. Unless you look to the west and see all the buildings it is possible to forget you are in a big city. The park is green, as nice well maintained trails and is just a nice tranquil place.

If you are in the central area of Lake Shore Drive (LSD), you might enjoy visiting Milton Lee Olive Park, that is right across from LSD, and that gives you a great visual perspective and panoramic views of the Lakeshore Front of Chicago in all its magnificent splendor. The location of the park is perfect, and the park itself is wonderful -- 10+ acres of a well designed and developed land, properly maintained, that also offers to enjoy the beauty of nature (vast grassy areas, both open and shaded), and walking paths; the central, wide alley of the park is a beauty, adorned with enormous honey locust trees, there are benches in the park and other seating areas around the five fountains (working in summer time). The observation deck facing the Lake Front, is fantastic and functional, and of course the park opens to the fascinating Lake Michigan, that is very attractive in any time of the year. The park is located very closely to Navy Pier, Jane Addams Memorial Park, Lakefront Trail, Lake Point Tower, and Ohio Street Beach. The park is named after Milton L. Olive, III -- a Vietnam veteran and the first African-American recipient of the Medal of Honor. The park was officially dedicated in 1966 by the US President Lyndon B. Johnson.
