Golf may be the star attraction at Glen of the Downs Golf Club in Co. Wicklow. However, the stunning setting and elegant clubhouse broadens its appeal to host private functions and weddings. With a desirable champagne reception, fine dining restaurant, and lively bar all set against the spectacular backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains, Glen of the Downs Golf Club Co.Wicklow ticks all the boxes for a special occasion. Imagine playing golf in the most idyllic countryside location. The Glen of the Downs Parkland course was designed by Peter McEvoy. Retaining the character of the surrounding nature while sculpting exciting features, the result is a course that is suitable to all golfing conditions. Exceeding the expectations of the most discriminating golfer, the 18-hole, 6,443 yard course is challenging, yet offers enjoyment to players of every level. It is also pleasant to the eye as Peter's trademark design is etched throughout the course, and built to USGA specifications with sand based greens and tees.

I have played this course on numerous occasions, and have been most fortunate to get good weather each time, It is very exposed to the elements, so it is advisable to check the Weather Forecast as I could imagine play in wet and windy conditions would be very challenging. Golf aside, the Clubhouse is beautifully set into the countryside with... More

This golf course is set under the view of the sugar loaf. It's hilly but not too tricky. The greens today were very slick. Not sure if I like this course or not. It's not my first time to play but still can't make up my.mind about it. Usually you don't like a course if you don't play well but... More

No doubt about it, this is a lovely golf course with great scenery and after golf facilities. The course is challenging but fair to the average golfer handicapper. Our group of 4 had a great day's golf and beautiful Autumn weather to go with it. Unlike my previous visit when we used a ride-on golf buggy, this time we all... More

Perfect place for a lazy lunch on a sunny day. I had the Superfood salad – it was delicious. My friend had the Fish & Chips which was cooked to perfection. We sat out on the deck and had a glass of wine and enjoyed our lunch. We will defiantly be back, staff are friendly and food is amazing.

Service very slow even though very few in dining area, staff were not friendly,(not even a smile) menu limited and food mediocre only good thing was the outside decking sits upon a man-made pond so tranquil, , its a pity about the lunching quality won't be recommending to my friends
