Based on previous visits this would have been five stars. Today something had gone unaccountably wrong and our baked cod took an age to arrive. BUT it was well worth waiting for - an excellent pair of plates of food. The staff were concerned and...More

Since losing their chef, the food quality has deteriorated. Overpriced, tasteless and dull. The salad consisted of a pile of aging vegetables with no dressing. The hot beef baguette was mostly bread with a small slice of dry beef. The suet pudding looked like it...More

We called in for lunch mid way through a lovely walk. Friendly staff, great beer and good walker's grub- just what we needed! I think more of our walks may pass through Heptonstall at lunchtime!

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome here an in many other pubs. There is a coffee shop down in Hebden Bridge, called "The Lamppost" which caters especially for dogs and their owners.
