Excellent place to go for a nice relaxing walk with the dogs and children. There are toilet and cafe facilities. There are also at least every pubs in walking distance to stop at. Great place in the summer.

I used to love this place, that was before the car park was created! I used to enjoy coming here with my grandchildren and watch them run freely on the grass, andi have a picnic. There was always loads of cars/people here. However for some reason someone thought it a good idea to dig up the grass and throw a... More

Now is the best time of year to see the real heritage of Pooley Park at its clearest. Note as you drive from Pooley Lane into the entrance of the Park, the old, no-longer used barrier left in place for you to admire. Look to your left at the heaps of detritus under the trees, slabs of concrete, pieces of... More

Visited the Pooley Country Park by accident really as our original plans didn't work out! On arrival here initially, we were a bit put off by the sight and noise of the nearby motorway. We did however, continue with exploring the area and discovered a wonderful forest which runs adjacent to the canal. Our children had a fantastic time wandering... More

The name "Country Park" if used by a private concern would probably lead to a prosecution under the Trade Description laws. Pooley Park is a reclaimed colliery site where the reclamation appears to have been done on a "shoe-string" - by amateurs. From the moment you drive off Pooley Lane you are faced with industrial debris. Huge slabs of concrete... More

This park is maturing and is a great place to get close to nature. It is well cared for and a great asset to the local community. Nature cheek by jowl with the railway and the motorway

Went here recently with my partner and our dogs as it's not far from whee I live now and had seen the signposts and not had a chance to go. There is a pay point where you pay for parking though it's not too bad. The park itself is lovely and the walks are great for building up fitness or... More
