I visited as a pit stop on my Sunday afternoon cycle ride. Nice little church. Not really much to see or do, I walked around the churchyard and took some photos and rested for a while on one of the benches to eat my snacks. It was very nice and peaceful. Would perhaps be most appealing to older couples or... More

This small church was built over 1,200 years ago and it is the oldest wooden church in the world. We planned to go for a walk in the countryside and this was a lovely discovery. When you enter, a beautiful atmosphere both sacral and peaceful pervades the place and it looks a bit unreal too. The church is well maintained... More

Can't here today for a look around.. What a great find! Beautiful beautiful church inside and out. It was quiet with no one around but the church was open to look inside. Beautiful coloured windows and all set up for a service. Stepped in history go and you won't be disappointed:)

Small wooden village church which is well maintained with tiny pews and coloured windows. Worth a short stop on a Sunday drive. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

When we have first time visitors from out of town we always take them here, we have taken friends from the USA, Bahamas, South Africa, Wales and elsewhere and all have been truly impressed. We have been here many times and I always enjoy the peace and serenity of the Church and grounds. There is also a lovely old stake... More

Whilst looking at local churches for our up coming wedding, we were recommended to visit Greensted Church. With timber working dating back to 1060, this is an incredibly well kept church, steeped in history set in beautiful grounds. If passing through you must definitely visit, a gem of the English countryside.

The Greensted Church is tucked away so not easy to find, but once there well worth the visit. Being the oldest wooden Church it has a lot to offer. Lovely building, well kept gardens with good information available to enhance the visit. There is a small booklet available for purchase to provide additional information. Well worth a visit.

It was recommended to visit if in the area .. So we did. Really beautiful church, very well kept inside and outside and you don't have to be religious to appreciate it. There is not much to see in the area part from disconnected / disused train line . ( stem train runs on the line certain weekends- pleasure train)
