You'll never forget your first sight of Blickling. Sitting in a magnificent garden and park is a breath-taking mansion, flanked by ancient yew hedges. Past owners have used the estate as a refuge while performing on the world's political stage. Philip Kerr, the last private owner, helped shaped the National Trust's history, using his influence to find a way of saving great country houses for future generations to enjoy. Until his death in 1940 he used the house for entertaining his prominent guests; and photographs, sounds and objects help to tell his story. Outside, the formal garden is the result of three centuries of inspired planting, and the gently undulating historic parkland is great for exploring.

The best National trust property in the County. Wonderful gardens and woodland walks. There is an excellent restaurant offering home grown and home cooked meals. So much to do, walk by the lake, nose around and old book shop, not to mention hours around the house and grounds. Always something on whatever time year.

Love going for a walk on the estate and through the great British countryside. The paths are well defined and at times intertwine to enable you to construct your own route. The house is majestic with a view of how the aristocracy once lived. The staff are knowledgeable and approachable. The restaurant is clean and reasonably priced and is situated... More

Myself and partner were sent an e mail regarding Christmas with santa at blickling as I am a Christmas nut !! My partner rang up and booked to take me on the Sunday before Christmas to see blickling lit up, see santa and enjoy the Christmas theme. I was contacted by a lady who I shall not name - she... We’re sorry that you were upset by this incident, that is not the intention of our Christmas arrangements! However, as the rest if your review makes clear, we did our best to make up for it when you complained. We hope you enjoy using your voucher and continue to visit the National Trust. More

I live a few miles away from the Estate and regularly walk my dogs around there. It is such a fantastic space in all seasons. Am looking forward to the Bluebells soon!

Pleased to say that the dog mess mentioned in a previous review was being cleared away by the estate rangers yesterday when we passed through the park. What a horrible job for them to do. I hope that the dog walkers who left the bags are ashamed of themselves for spoiling this lovely parkland. Well done estate rangers.

The first view of this magnificent edifice is a total joy. There is some walking to do and stairs so not for the faint-hearted. It is definitely worth it, however as there is something to see in every room of the house and the connection with Anne Bullen [ Boleyn], 2nd wife of Henry 8th fascinating. the gardens are extensive... We had a wonderful walk around the lake at Blickling. It is a beautiful place and the paths, though a bit muddy, were accessible. Sadly at the gate leading into the field next to the gate ten different bags of dog mess had been left randomly dropped acrossthe path. This is disgusting and will be very unpleasant for the poor... It's hard to select just one month that we visited as we come here a fair amount to make the most of our national trust membership and being able to access the house and gardens for free when we come. We also live fairly locally. The house is grand inside and very informative. The gardens are well looked after and... More
