About
Welcome to the famous Hogs Back Brewery, Surrey's largest independent brewery. We are a small craft brewery based in Surrey, situated just north of the A31 Hogs Back road between Guildford and Farnham. We are open to the public for Brewery Tours. Get to visit two breweries for the price of one! See around the Hogs Back brewhouse before heading down to One Planet Brewing Co, where every brew is 100% solar brewed, with plenty of samples throughout! Or see our summertime Hop Garden tours. Our Brewery Shop sells our own award-winning fresh and bottled beers, but also hundreds of British and World beers too. The Hogs Back Tap serves our range of cask and kegged beer. Open Thursdays to Sundays, book a table online or turn up and enjoy a wood-fired pizzas. For the full programme of events including music nights, festivals, live sport and charity quiz night, head to our website.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had heard a rumour the the Hogsback Brewery now had a bar - but didn’t know it was a proper beer keller style pub.

The food was great and of course the beer was excellent. They had another room with the 6 Nations rugby on a large screen - this did not disrupt the main pub at all .

What a perfect night out 😊

Mel was knowledgeable and funny. Proper small brewery passionate about beer. Lots of fun and very generous with the tasters. Will be back to the tap room soon.

Went on the tour, led by Steve. It was a really good tour, informative and a lot of fun. I decided not to join the tastings as I was driving but he provided me with a non-alcoholic alternative! Overall, it was fun, and we were able to get some lunch in the restaurant section afterwards. Would definitely recommend and is more than your money's worth!

Excellent tour. Lasted about 1 hour 50, which felt about right. Generous samples of 4 different drinks and the right level of detail.
The only thing I would say is that it might be a good idea for the company to offer a discount for a designated driver, which must be a typical thing for groups to have and something worth encouraging.

As the afternoon tours were fully booked up we did the 10.30 AM tour but it was a great way to start a day.

The guide, Bruce, was excellent- friendly, chatty and humorous and I can see why people go back for the tour again.

I thoroughly recommend.

I first organised a brewery tour here in 2004 for some friends for a birthday celebration and we have come back nearly every year since, culminating in Tour 17 (or XVII as we referred to it) this year. The tour has changed significantly in that time as the brewery has grown and all the better for it.

What has been a constant factor in us coming back has been tour guide Mel, who is always entertaining and enthusiastic champion for the brewery and what they are trying to do.

In terms of the tour you get lots of information about the brewing process, the history of the brewery and importantly copious amounts of different beers at the 4 stopping off points around the brewery. All culminating (if the weather is kind) outside looking out over the hop fields and the Hogs Back.

The Tap room is a welcome addition for either pre or post tour beer and food, though this can get busy at weekends.

We will be back for XVIII next summer

Had been on this tour before, about 10 years ago, and I am pleased to say the experience and the volume of beer provided has not been diluted with time! Our guide was engaging and funny, whilst also being very knowledgeable. He also kept us topped up at all times. Enjoyed trying the 4 beers on offer, a good selection including a lager.
We also went into the tap room and had some delicious pizza and burgers, and a couple more beers! All reasonably priced, with a lot of people seemingly coming here just to use it as a pub (The White Hart down the road appears to be closed at the moment).
The tour was very reasonably priced for what you get, so I would be more than happy to do this again and would highly recommend for lovers of beer.
Just dont plan anything for early the next morning.....

The guide was amazing! This was the most fun tour we ever had. Perfect balance of technical expertise and sampling of delicious beers. Please leave the car at home if you intend to partake in the full tour experience :D

This has to be the BEST Brewery Tour ever! Our guide (Mel) is both knowledgeable and (most importantly) funny; keeping you amused as you drink your way through the brewery sampling a very wide selection of ales. Just as a precaution though; get someone to pick you up after the tour.

What a great little brewery! Our guide was very knowledgeable and something of a raconteur which made for a very entertaining visit! I've been a fan of Tongham TEA for a good while. I still am but I now know I like most of their beers too. Samples during the tour are generous so avoid driving to get the full effect! And do check out the food in the tap room before you leave (but don't leave your free glass on the table, which we did...)
