We have plenty of FREE parking/picnic tables/restrooms right at the launch site. Our private campground / Kayak rental is located right adjacent to the William G. Stratton state park and features 1700' of sandy wooded beachfront on both the Illinois River and the I&M Canal. We are Our Campground hosts many Scout camping trips, family reunions, church groups and more! If you want Exercise and Adventure then choose: 1. Free Style Rentals-We provide maps and you provide FuN 2. Guided Tours-A great way for a beginner to get started in a relaxed fun atmosphere Tours are 2 hours long and include a quickstart lesson and brief instruction on the water. We take a variety of paths depending on current conditions. We will view a variety of wildlife including belted kingfishers, great blue herons, bald eagles, american white pelicans, coyotes, wild turkeys, cormorants, etc.(This is a good choice for beginners!) 3. Lessons- Formal Modular lessons presented in small groups. 3 hour lessons to learn new strokes or refine your existing strokes. Please try our guided tour first, then choose lessons. 4. We have BEACH CAMPING! Fully wooded sandy beach camping on the Illinois River. Enjoy fun from hiking/biking the I & M Canal Towpath to paddling the 3 waterways that we are on, to fishing along the shores or from your boat! Great for Family picnics, Scout Groups, youth groups, IF YOU WANNA BE LAZY TRY OUR ALL NEW FLOAT TRIPS: 5. You take a 1st class 30 minute ride on a PONTOON BOAT upstream where we drop u n your kayak to float back 9 miles to our campground.

Very well organized and attentive during the reservation process. Directions to their site were excellent. Beautiful spot right at the river. Mini class instruction upbeat and started on time. Staff helpful, fun and informative. Equipment in good condition. A very good experience.

Went for a Mom and Sons cub scout camping trip. It was right on the lake. The owners are super friendly and helpful. We fished, cooked out, hiked, swam, kayaked and they even had a movie in the woods. Would go back again!
