Naper Settlement offers a glimpse into the historical foundations of the city of Naperville. There are live demonstrations such as Blacksmith, Printing, and Kids games. They also offer tours of the Mansion, a great Museum, and beautiful grounds to walk around. They also did an exceptional job in creating the new children play for area which has a water feature... It is one thing to see local history. At Naper Settlement you are immersed in it. Costumed interpreters in period clothing portray historical characters and answer all of your questions. There are living history programs for school groups and Scouts. Time your trip for a special event like Spring Fever, Civil War Days, Oktoberfest, or All Hallows Eve if you... More

I have visited the Christkindl Markt in downtown Chicago for many years. I decided to visit the Market in Naperville with my family and went on a Saturday night. I went the first weekend in December. I went to the market with my 19 & 20 year old sons,my 27 year old daughter along with my two granddaughters ages 7... More

Waited a week to go, so the crowds were much less. Very festive, beautiful lights on the grounds. We even toured the main house, which was very interesting. Lots of unique items to buy and German/polish food and beer/gluwhine

It was nice not to have to drive downtown for this experience, we found free parking on a side street. I would recommend going early before it gets crowded. We had the potatoe pancakes and hot chocolate. We were lucky enough to find a seat in one of the beer tents to eat (where it was toasty warm)

We visited the Naper Settlement at night for the Christkindlmarket, so my review applies more to this specific event being held there than the settlement itself. It was a cute little set up and you could see some of the buildings that were part of Naper Settlement. The market was not set up great (for a Saturday night) and was... More

This is the first year the Christkindlmarket has been in Naperville and I loved not having to drive downtown for this great activity. They recreated the booths for vendors to replicate what they have downtown and added two large warming tents where you can go to sit and eat/drink. The food was very good! If you share, you can experience... More

We went for the Christmas market, a horrible disappointment as it was so congested you could hardly move. Very poorly planned. We strolled the settlement to escape bumping constantly into people, strollers (people don't seem to realize they are ramming people's legs with their babies chariots). We could only visit limited open buildings but would enjoy another visit perhaps in... More

The Holiday Market at Naper Settlement is a must when visiting Downtown Naperville this season. The cinnamon pecans are wonderful.
