2 seniors had a wonderful full day tour, riding bareback on healthy, happy elephants, morning ride in the jungle, delicious lunch, afternoon ride into the Mekong River for a swim. Guides spoke good English, taught us so much, stayed close to us. Then Pak Ou Caves by boat, and whiskey village, all wonderful. We got comfortable with the elephants by feeding them bananas.

I got a motorcycle from them for 24 hours...when I returned it the next day they didn’t have my passport and told me to come back in 6 hours (weird, and inconvenient because I had to cancel a bus). When I went back they still didn’t have it, so I was told to come back the next day at 8am...30 minutes before my new bus departure. I show up and the guy doesn’t have my passport! So he motorbikes to wherever the passport is (why is it not at the same location as where I dropped it off???). So he comes back in 10 minutes and doesn’t have it..because it was in a drawer at the original location. So I paid for a motorcycle and delivered it on time but had to run on their terrible schedule and lack of organization to get a passport back. If you expect rentals to be returned on time, you should return passports on time. What a joke.

The ride is very bumpy to a remote stretch of river, all ran on time and was seamless to begin with. Then we arrived to the start point which had elephants on 50cm chains in the middle of a clearing, their poor feet were bloody and had thick lash wounds from being kept that way for so long. They were standing in their own faeces and it was so terribly heartbreaking. We had no idea this was part of the tour as we bought the kayak, temple and whiskey village package - but our guide quickly offered us to skip out our afternoon kayak session for elephant riding (he didn’t fancy doing the full day). We said no. The kayaking and river were fantastic and the views phenomenal - however the staff not. We were a group of 6, with mixed guys and girls. The guys were more powerful and sped 200m ahead as did our instructor. He gave 0 cares and didn’t look back to check on us once; and some parts were dangerous and did have strong current. If we had fallen in we were on our own. Cave and village were highly missable. Lunch was good but again you are back with the elephants, we saw a group that had come to do riding and feeding and again we were so disturbed. As they fed one elephant the other would be straining on its chains trying to beg for food because they are starving. I’d recommend kayaking with another company, you can get the views from of them. Don’t promote their horribly unethical elephant keeping and poor care for service.
