About
Barbara and Jean Claude glass artists. (WHERE ART MEET GLASS) We are now recycling glass bottles into our creations, doing our bit to help preserve the environment. We are dedicated to improve the quality of crafts which are available to tourists and locals. We have created the craft academy where we teach crafters on the importance of quality and value for money. Barbara makes the beads using glass recycled from bottles and also the Italian Murano glass. We now offer workshops for tourists. Visit our us at the studio, discover the art of bead making, we also give free demonstrations. Unique jewelry using recycled glass bottles a Italian glass. We have a selection of our handcrafted tableware and glassware. We are part of (made in moris) We offer the client the possibility of making their own bracelets, tableware under our guidance by special arrangement. WE SHIP WORLDWIDE. All items available for sale and are duty free, you pay what the price advertised. We do bespoke items.

Highly recommended for any visitors to Mauritius, and locals as well. The items are true works of art and the couple are so creative. Very beautiful stuff and there's so much variety there is something for everyone.

We were travelling back from Grande Gaube to The Royal Palm by car and came across this lovely artisans' shop accidentally.It is cited on a bend so if you drive too quickly you miss it.I couldn't really find anything tasteful as a memory of Mauritius in Grande Bay shops but as soon as I saw the lovely glass items made by Barbara and Jean-Claude I knew I had found what I was looking for.I bought a pretty paper knife/ letter opener.The jewellery was lovely too.I would have loved to have bought a large glass bowl but for weight restrictions on the plane :( So I got my perfect memory with a small dodo on top.

A nice surprising find close to our hotel.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a tour and explanation of their beautiful and excellent quality glass products before being left to explore for ourselves.
Would definitely recommend this place for selection, quality and price if you're looking to take home a few memories or gifts.

Barbara and Jean-Claude are the owners of Studio 44, THE address to go for a stylish gift made of glass. From bracelets to butter knifes and vases, all articles are handmade by them and of superior quality. I bought gifts for my sisters in Holland and they were in particular thrilled with the wine bottle stopper with the little dodo prancing on top. True craftsmanship!

Visited the Studio 44 today looking for a high quality gift I needed for a forthcoming business trip to the Middle East.
The hand made glass bowl I finally selected from their extensive selection is just stunning.
Barbara and her husband are absolutely exquisite and could not be been more helpful or charming. We even got a demonstration of how fabricate their products.

I have just bought some beautiful knives and pens from their pop up stall at the Radisson Blu hotel.
So impressed I got more for gifts :).
Best souvenirs on the island and definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled upon this lovely glasswork shop on our way to the supermarket. Owned by a husband and wife team, they make serving ware, jewelry, bookmarks & more. Mom bought this gorgeous set of teaspoons for friends who are watching our pets. Looking for unique, quality Mauritian gifts? Look no further.
