Found the Natural bridge in Pomona/ Shawnee National forest - very cool! Since it was early spring, the greenery was just starting to bud. I think if we go back in June it will be even prettier. It was a fast easy hike. There are some steep areas, but nothing too bad, just a great workout for your legs. Great thing... More

The natural bridge is a pretty cool land feature. The hike is extremely short though - less than 10 minutes.

It's a very cool and unique natural attraction to see. The whole hike is only about a half mile tops. The trail descends down from the parking lot, crosses the natural bridge and loops back up. It's a nice vista and you can check it off the list if you're doing some more hiking in the area. Little Grand Canyon... More

Easy walk for anyone. Adventure for anyone. The road to get to the parking lot is also an adventure.

My husband and I only went into the forest as far as the bridge but it was a very easy trail to navigate by reviewing the trail map sign present at the trail head. When the path splits early on, we went "right" and that leads quickly to the bridge which we walked over and down underneath. On a beautiful,... More

The Pomona Natural Bridge, located near Pomona, Illinois, in the Shawnee National Forest, won't make anyone forget the Natural Bridge near Lexington, Virginia. But it is something worth seeing if you are in the vicinity. It is one of many spectacular natural wonders that are abundant in the Shawnee National Forest. It is about 30 meters long, three meters wide... More

If your driving to Hickory Ridge or Ponoma Winery take the time and see the Natural Bridge. It's fun to walk across and you don't have to be a hiker or walk to far to enjoy the natural beauty.

So this is one of those things where you see pictures and don't think it's worth the stop. It is a few miles north back on a gravel road out of the run down town of Pomona. So you'll feel your going to the middle of nowhere. There are no outhouses so make a stop at a winery before or... More

We frequently stay down the road at the Tomcat Hill Cabins. Every time we come down my son asks if we can go to the bridge. He LOVES this thing. It's very easy to get to by car, then a 2 minute hike down the hill to go see it. There are some sheer edges so be careful with little... More

It was a little difficult to find..but once there, incredibly easy to walk to. Little slick, Little different. Take your time and dont fall! Take a camera as I got loads of excellent photos from crawdads to gaping cracks in the rock. Excellent side trip.
