Amazing Dinosaurs (without crowds)

It's very small but the fossils are fun to look at. The current sea monster exhibit is neat and it brought a few fun activities for the little people to do like pretend archaeological digs and such. It's not the most interesting museum to visit but it's close to home and I learn something every time. They post their community... More

I learned more at this small museum than I have ever learned at the Field Museum. The model dinosaur heads were really impressive. In fact I found them a bit scary! The Montana expedition that discovered "Jane," the young (11-yr.-old) T. Rex., was from the Burpee along with volunteers from nearby Northern Illinois University. The wall display portraying the Life... More

Ok so I paid to go here with a 12 year old. Boring. Not much to do. The entry room to the Field in Chicago has more to do and more of interest. Lots of stuffed animals. However if you like taxidermy go for it. I suggest you skip this and do something else. Mini-Golf? Wisconsin? New Glarus? Field Museum... More

The dinosaur skeletons and replicas are very cool. Lots of fossils. The traveling exhibit that is up right now is deep sea prehistoric things. Although it is very cool to see how big some of those sea creatures were, I think a whole extra $5 per person is a little steep just to be able to go in that room... More

This museum is so small, that you can actually talk to the staff and they will try to answer you with the answer you want. If they don't know it, they will find out. They're famous for Jane the juvenile T-Rex , but they are always adding, adding, adding. 3 floors of displays and all very interesting. Enjoy

This place is definitely full of grand dinosaurs and awesome finds but I can't justify the fee, we go on free days and enjoy it all in a relaxing environment as we are homeschoolers and it's usually quiet on free days during the school year. We love to read about their excavations and learn so much but as I said,... More

We are fortunate to have Jane the juvenile T-Rex and other rcent finds by our local museum. People come from around the world to see Jane. She has been featured on the Discover Channel.

Was much better than expected. Has the worlds most complete Juvenile T-REX! We enjoy museums, but some can be overkill. This one was just perfect, it took about 2 hours to go through and didn't have a headache when done. Some real sweet authentic displays, our favorite was the T-rex skeleton (yes its not a copy, but the REAL one)... More

First off - I think get the right age range. There are 2 wonderful attractions right next door to each other... See... I've been here a couple of times. When my kids were small, we always went to the next door Discovery World (children's museum) which kept them occupied for many hours. Since it was so hands on - and... More
