We went to Love Valley after a local suggested we visit. We went to go relic hunting but couldn't locate the area where we were told to hunt. We checked out the rest of the town and found that this is a very unique place!...More

First of all, I've been interested in cowboys and cowgirls since I was a young child of the 50s. So I was really drawn to the concept of a western town in the Carolinas. However, be aware that if you don't have a horse in...More

Park the car and walk up into town: only horses & bicycles are the only transportation allowed on Main Street, so watch what you step in. If you are concerned about what you may step in, this is not the place for you. It is...More

The only thing missing here was James Arnett and Festus and Miss Kitty. An old west town totally unexpected in North Carolina. No cars allowed here- only horses -I am serious- dirt roads and realistic saloons. Great heartland meals like catfish, brisket, BBQ, Carp fries,...More

We stopped during the early morning (10am) and it was a ghost town. It was a bit creepy but the few folks we met were pleasant.

This little town is just off I77 in North Carolina, north of Charlotte. It's a small place, open Thurs thru Sunday. Neat place to visit and ride. Other days of the week there is still riding and places to stay, but town is not 'open'....More

Love Valley is a very informal place and there are lots of unpaved areas to ride horses. I doubt that shoes are required. Maybe you can call Miss Kitty's Boarding House and discuss details with them.
