As a local resident I purchased a beach parking permit, as we sea kayak for exercise. Tried to park on the beach today to be told that due to the high tide no vehicles are allowed on the beach! With the ice cream van and burger trailer already parked on the beach!! The overflow car is kept locked and the traffic warden is constantly walking up and down generating even more income for the council, through the cars parking on the verges. The last nice weekend of weather before the end of September. When the beach becomes permanently locked making it hard to launch our kayak! …

Miles and miles of lovely beach, and parking right there. Dunes for secluded picnics or shelter on a breezy day.

Endless miles of sand, lovely sand dunes to roam in with the kids and dog with the added bonus of a large pond just before the entrance to the beach. We spend many an evening here with the kids. I grew up on this beach with fond memories and now my kids can make them memories too.…

Visited the beach a few times during our stay in Southport. The sea is a long way out when the tide is out but leaves a beach that’s great for beach cricket, if you like that sort of stuff. Lots of dunes to explore, my kids loved that. You can park on the beach itself, it costs £8 for the day or £20 for a season ticket, which you have to buy online. Portaloos nearby and it’s a pretty level walk down to the beach. …
