We enjoyed our stay last fall at Prophestown State Park. The campground has nice level big sites and some sites have full hook ups. Some sites are more shaded than others. There is just one bathhouse, but it's very large and and is kept clean. There is a nice pool there as well that is an additional charge. They don't... More

Park entrance fee of $8 seems high for November. Visitor center was closed. Park is mostly asphalt paths and tall grass! In good shape but is Indiana's newest state park! Walking trails are limited and long if you want to see the river. You need a bicycle to get around. The few sites I saw were PC revisionist history! The... More

This state park was a really nice surprise. Very well maintained! We also checked out the farm. We were there during the week off season, but it was very obvious that it is maintained by some very caring people. A definite must see.

I was surprised, but pleased by visiting this park this weekend with a friend. I went on a 8.5 mile trail run and hike. Despite the beautiful weather and the fact that the park was full, we only saw a handful of people on trails 3 and 4. I recommend heading to the back of the park to hike 3... More

As Living Historians, my husband and I were looking forward to seeing this. Unfortunately, it was off season and there was nothing going on. House is nice--straight out of the 1920s. Lots of chickens, a couple of turkeys, a couple of ducks and geese. The pigs were cool and let us pet them. We saw only two horses, and no... More

Prophetstown State Park is one of the newest state parks. There on the premises is an old farmhouse, aquatic center, trails alive with wild flowers, grills, swings, slides and fishing. Oh, did I mention clean campgrounds? Lots to do whether you are young or old, a family or single.

Awesome facility! Something for everyone. There were 9 of us ranging from age 60-4 and no one was disappointed. We didn't eat at the concessions but it was a large area that was separate from the water play area. Shower room/restrooms were large and clean. Reception was easy and welcoming. All the staff seemed friendly and eager to help. The... More

There were positives and negatives to our stop at Prophetstown. At the gate we asked about day activities, but the person was not very helpful. Very few trees and the basketball court was isolated, with an under-construction parking lot. At the small visitor center we did get a list of activities and walked across the road to the reconstructed Indian... More

My Grandkids from NC were in Indiana for a few weeks, and I needed somewhere to spend some time with them where they could have some fun. We visited the aquatic center which is a very nice water park. The kids had a blast in the lazy river, the water slides and the pool. The price was right, the concession... More

I live in Tennessee (home to some great state and national parks), and I was truly impressed with this state park! We just got home from a family road trip around Indiana, and when I asked my kids what their favorite part of the trip was, they said "The Farm!". Which shocked me, considering we came here primarily for the... More
