    Incredible, otherworldly caves
It’s not often attractions undersell themselves, but this place is just incredible. They describe them as ‘fairytale’ and they are all that and more. They are the most incredible, otherworldly place we’ve been to. And the story of their discovery makes them even more poignant. You can imagine filming The Hobbit / Star Wars or Harry Potter here. You only seem to be able to go round in a guided group and ours was really professional and informative. Our family, including a couple of teens, thought it was amazing and we all highly recommend a visit.

    Great caves. Stairs aplenty!
This is a great set of caves where you are taken with a guide through a 1100 meter trail. The formations are lovely and the guide gives some history about the discovery and geology. There are a lot of steep steps so not recommended for those with mobility issues.

    Awesome
I really loved visiting the second biggest cave in Greece yesterday! You can take the bus 16 to near the cave from Loannina. The tour was worth the 8 euros and is a nice 1km walk through with the guide. It is in English and Greek which was nice. I've seen many caves but this is one of the best!

Impressive rock formations in extensive caves. Unfortunately guide marched us through so quickly we barely had time to look at them and very little information was offered. Very frustrating visit.

Great caves easy to access and value for money. Can reach by public bus no. 16 from Ioannina and less than 1km walk from stop. Price includes guided tour. As expected steps and wet surfaces but not overly onerous. Guide knowledgeable.

The place is simply incredible. It is amazing to think you're entering such great caves filled with history. Also, the tour guide was really great, sharing facts and answering doubts, in both english and greek. I would only want one better coffee/water corner.. The day I went made almost 40ºC and if I hadn't had a bottle of water by myself, I would've had to walk a long way to get something to eat or drink.

These caves are outstanding and well worth a visit. We were fortunate in arriving shortly after a tour had set off so were able to catch them up. No photography allowed but I’m not sure a camera could capture the sheer scale of the caves. The tour guide explained everything in Greek and then in English so very helpful for us. The caves are cleverly lit and whilst there are lots of steps the walkways are well laid out and easy to negotiate. An absolute must to visit if you are in the area, you cannot help but be filled with a sense of awe and amazement.

The pathway through these extensive caves has been very well organised for visitors and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. She gave masses of information about the discovery of the caves and the formation of stalactites etc which illuminated the visit. Entry is on a one-way street in a fairly busy area so, to get there, you need to look out for all the signs.
