Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very lovely hike full of adventure. it takes you about two hours to the bridge (including tons of pictures), passing two pasareles on which you overcomea huge rock wall and offering a fantastic view.
rent a kayak for the easy tour back and enjoy the scenery from another perspective. rent the kayaks directly at the reception of albergue montefalco. $45 for a single, $ 80 for a double kayak, including all the safety gear, clear instructions, the opportunity to follow the river up to the gorge and finally the ride back up to the albergue (very convenient!).
the road to montfalco is newly made and most of the time easy to drive. some parts are even paved. only on the last 2 km there are some heavy bumps but we saw plenty of normal cars on the parking. staying overnight is officially permitted although we saw people spending the night there.
combine it with murella de china in finestres when in this area.

I wasnt really sure what to expect as everything I googled was in Spanish and I'm still learning lol... 8k walk up and down, up and down.. Absolutely breathtaking scenery and such an adrenaline rush to climb the steps built into the cliff face... Allow 4 hours and plenty of time for photos... Unless you have a 4wheel drive, grab a taxi to take you and meet you at the other side... we organised ours at Taxi Viacamp. (Cafe next to the Tourist Information Centre) Fantastic service.

We did this trail with our family of four, including two kids aged almost 11 and 9.5. Last year we also walked El caminito del rey (an hour north to Malaga and also highly recommended). Although El caminito del rey felt more safe and seemed better maintained then Las pasarelas, there was not one moment that I felt unsafe. But this may depend on wheter or not you’re afraid of heights (which I’m not, but my husband and son are a bit and they did feel challenged sometimes).
The road to the albergue de montfalco is unpaved, full of holes and for most of the time without a shoulder. This drive for me was far more challenging and scary than las pasarelas. You can park your car for free at the albergue (there were plenty of available spaces when we were there in August and parking is free). We made our descend towards the Puente del Siegue which is 3.5 km. The two staircases are included in this walk. At the Puente del Siegue, a catamaran awaited us to sail us further into the montrebei gorge (we booked that the day before) whereby the guide explained a lot about the area (our guide did not speak English so everything was in Spanish). After about 20 minutes into the gorge we turned and sailed back to a little further than the albergue. There’s a road that leads towards the shore and a car awaited us to take us back to the albergue.
We started our hike at 12.00 and where at the point del siegue at 14.15. We did everything at a very relaxed pace, resting once in a while and took lots of pictures. Although the tour does cost quite a lot of euros I would really recommend it. Las pasarelas itself is free of charge and going back by boat is fat more relaxed than having to climb the full 3.5 km back up the mountain in the sun. We saw lots of people soaked in sweat going upwards while we were descending.
All in all, if you are able to hike a bit, do this trail. You won’t regret it!

The path from the refuge is a good route, as it passes through very beautiful forests and luckily in December there is no one or almost no one. The walkways...well, you have good views, but too much material on the wall, for my taste. They have also renovated them, which I have no doubt are much safer and more accessible to more people, but they have removed the excitement or feeling of vertigo. In any case, we are talking about an area that is already beautiful, so it is a good option...in summer I doubt it.

Do you need to but a ticket for this? Last year we went to el caminito de rey and didn’t know that we had to buy a ticket well in advance. Luckily, we discovered that every morning they save 50 tickets for people showing up without so we went very early in the morning and we got in. Don’t want to make that same mistake here, so if needed I will buy my tickets in advance.
