A new room has been added onto the museum since my last visit years ago. The new room features the actual winning race cars and a couple of trophies, including an early 1900s Silver Tiffany trophy. For an additional fee take the tour where the bus actually drives on the Indy 500 track and you can get out and see... More

It's fun and interesting if you are a racing fan. It's housed inside the track, so it's kind of fun to be inside the track to see the museum- and you can take tours around the track. (Consider running the mini marathon in May to run a lap around the track during the half marathon) There is a LOT of... More

The Brickyard has hosted every motor race imaginable from motorcycle to Formula One to air races. Now they host one of the most beautiful drives through this historic facility all decked out in millions of twinkling Christmas 🎄 lights. This should become a new Hoosier tradition!

The entrance to the museum is taking you directly to the adventure of the race. The outstanding view of the legendary racetrack, the historical vehicles and the 1908 Mercedes... For 8USD you get a nice historical review of the race.

I had arrived shortly after my flight landed, and ironically the day I choose to visit was the opening day of a new exhibit. "Cars from Indiana" If you are an individual with any appreciation of cars or history, this would have to be an exhibit you need to go see. I choose to take the self guided tour simply... More

I am a big fan of car museums. This on, because of over all car development, is in the top five. It is by far not the largest, but does include a great deal of background history. Worth the trip. Note the museum store, by comparison, is VERY EXPENSIVE.

We went to the Lights at the Brickyard. Very well done, well managed. Huge crowd. I highly recommend spending the extra money to enter through the golf course. There are signs guiding you down 16th street for that option.

We visited from the UK as my husband is a fan, even though I am no, I had a fab day, learnt so much and got to stand on the podium and track and kiss the bricks. Very informative staff and well organised.

We were in Indianapolis for a family reunion and decided to hit the museum for the afternoon. It was a really fun family activity and had a lot for us to see and do. The highlight was the track tour and opportunity to kiss the bricks. Even if you don't like racing, the opportunity to stand out on the track... More
