I saw the word Park and was thinking Central Park. There is a bit of an outside park, but the women at the welcome center explained that this park includes the surrounding museums. Budget tip: NCAA museum is $5.00! I was looking for more of an outside day. I walked over white river and thoroughly enjoyed the sculptures along the... More

White river runs through the center of Indianapolis and the state park is right near its downtown. Sunday may be the best day to visit as the offices are closed and you don't find yourself stuck in congested road and parking is easily available. Lot of activities to do in the park. You can visit museum, ride bikes or go... More

The park is nothing special, at least during winter days but, the worst thing ever, is that the parking meter at the surface parking, where you'd pay 5$ for 1 hour, doesn't give any change. Unfortunately it's not clearly mentioned on the meter so we finished to pay 20$ for 1 hour. I think it's a shame that the city... More

We drove to the city just for a quick sightseeing walk and my wife and I were happily surprise that this is a great park to walk around the city and enjoy the nature plus great views of the city center and Indianapolis skyline Be prepare to pay parking, it depends on your needs, you can pay 5 Dollars for... We found the White River Canal Walk without knowing what a gem that it is in downtown Indianapolis. There were businesses, condos, museums, paddle-boats and a great place to walk. We loved the area and would recommend it for all adults.

This was just a stopover on our way to Springfield, Illinois. When we arrived we we're pleasantly surprised to realize all the attractions at this location. We visited the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of Native American Art. The admission price to each museum was $13.00 per person; a little steep but at least it includes parking. Unfortunately... More

I enjoyed this park. It was a little hard to find based on Google Maps GPS feature, but was able to finally arrive. Be prepared to pay $5 (I think( for parking). When I go back, I would like to take a bike and ride rather than walk so I could see more of the park. Also, it would be... More

This family friendly park is a great way for travelers of all ages to spend an hour or an afternoon. There's a long, winding walking path wide enough for bicycles, joggers and strollers. There's a place to rent bikes (tandem bikes, tricycles, and more) for an hour or longer. There are plenty of large grassy spots for groups, families or... More

You really can't tell you're in a downtown area because the park is so quiet and lovely. We walked about 10 miles in total, from the parking lot to the bridge, promenade, trails etc. This is a beautifully maintained park AND it's right in the city. Parking is reasonable at $5/hr. and teh gift shop is adorable. The lady working... More
