Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is HUGE! So huge, the employees use walkies to talk to each other lol. There's five sections and when you think you've hit the end of it, it KEEPS GOING! I also LOVE the Vintage Gypsy upstairs. Amazing and cute vintage clothing. Everything from furniture, to art, to my FAVOURITE, collector dolls. Block out at least an hour to come, as there is so much to find, and it's literally a treasure hunt. You will NOT regret coming here.

The picture heading up this listing is very deceptive. This place goes on and on and on! Imagine a maze - full of old knick-knacks, antiques, cool collectibles, clothes, dolls, dishes of all shapes and sizes, toys, toys, and more toys, well, you get the idea. Others have said it will take you several hours to wade through the place, and they were spot on. They have maps to show you which direction you're heading. They have multiple restrooms and arrows on the floor to direct you to the nearest one. If they had a food court you'd never have to leave!
Don't miss this place if you are on the south side of Indianapolis!

Interesting antique stop, a different layout as mall is made up of series of rooms
filled with antiques, craft items and items you would remember from past days. Interesting as you venture from room to room, well laid out and organized. Helpful staff, usually open until 8:00 in the evenings, reasonable prices. Does have series of showcases a swell as booth. Worth a visit if in the area, time well spent.

If, like us, you do a lot of antiquing, plan on being here quite awhile, might be sure you've eaten prior. We were here just over 3 1/2 hrs. So large and spread out. I would gather 70% of the booths are within normal antiquing prices. Not so much the others. We were there 2 1/2 hrs and were confused as to where we had been and what we'd seen. When we entered another part we saw 'maps'. We did not see them when we entered nor were we offered any greeting or notification they were available. LOVE the Vintage Gypsy Soul store on the upper level. Unfortunately I was at the end of our visit. Wish I had known about it prior, I would have spent more time there first. I'd return just to go there first but it is a 4 hr drive.

You will never enter and not find something interesting! My only issue is the prices are mostly far too steep for the area. It is a fun place to go and walk around and take in the history of the items however. I do wish there was more information listed about the history of at least some of the larger items. We have bought a couple small things here - like an antique cane that is being used from time to time. The place is a bit of a maze when you walk around - expect to be occupied and happily lost for a couple hours. It's much larger on the inside than it looks on the outside.

This mall just went on and on and on! New and interesting items were around every corner. We felt that for the most part prices were reasonable. The people in the store were very nice and friendly. What a fun way to spend the afternoon.

I absolutely love visiting antique malls, but too many have turned into flea markets with relatively low or no standards for their vendors to follow. Southport Antique Mall is not one of those.
I have found some wonderful treasurers, including pure antiques and items that have been created from antiques. I especially appreciate their lay-away plan as well as the knowledge their staff seems to have of everything in the building and antiques overall. Tim has been especially helpful in contacting vendors to get answers to questions and walking us through the lay-away process for larger items.

I'm a vintage junkie. I like learning about the history of the days of old and the objects that people used and treasured. Southport Antique Mall is an endless honey hole of goodies. Each vendor has a different taste, style, and era focus. It's the perfect place to get lost on a Sunday afternoon or rainy day.

This a great antique mall. The variety of items here is excellent. We spent about 3 hrs here wandering the aisles. The store is much larger than it appears from outside. The staff was very friendly. They had several ladies on staff who came thru and took our items to the front for us. Love this place and will definitely be back.

We've been coming here for years, and always find it a great place to "hunt".
The sprawling nature of the layout adds to the expectation of what's ahead.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
The quality and variety of items is usually very good; with a higher percentage of antique/old items then many other malls.
We seldom leave without being tempted by at least several items.
It's a great place to spend several hours searching for that "treasure" that makes the "hunt" so enticing.

Between The Main Attraction, Midlands Arts and Antiques and Southport Antique Mall, which is the best (size, quality, price)? I'm looking to possibly pick up a antique souvenir of sorts for in-laws but will be on limited time and won't be able to visit all of them. Are there other antique malls in the area that is recommended? Thanks!

This kind of depends on what you're looking for. Indy is not exactly an antique mecca and shops tend to have a lot of kitchen stuff from the 1950s.
-- Midlands has two locations -- one in Indy on Michigan and one in Carmel. Have never been to the Carmel store. When I last visited Midlands, they had a lot of large furniture and a rabbit warren of booths on a couple of floors with a little bit of everything. The building is like ice in the winter and a thousand degrees in the summer since it's an old warehouse and you can't heat or cool it. The place is huge, and you should find a good variety of things, but the quality is uneven.
-- Have never been to The Main Attraction in Speedway.
-- Southport is nice, though most everything is 1910 to 1950, so not a lot of really old stuff. Many smalls. Clean and well organized.
-- I like the Antique Emporium and Old Town Antique Mall in Carmel. Both small shops. Antique Emporium always has nice silver. Old Town has a booth I visit for antique linens.
