If you want to see how things were built back in the 1856 stop by this barn. The size of the planks are unreal. Most planks are from chestnut trees.

The barn was really neat and the historic cabins they moved in were very interesting. The gardens were well maintained and lovely.

We found this barn, cabin and herb garden while walking on Jasper's Riverwalk. It dates to 1845 and looks like they hold wedidings in it (there were rose petals on the ground outside). It was well-preserved and an interesting photo op.

We check this out often when we take time to stroll on the Riverwalk. Sections of it are open all the time for exploring.

If you visit the river walk you must go see Schaeffers barn. There isn't a lot to it but it is an awesome place to take some photos of friends and family with its neat looking back drop.
